Donald Trump 'offered Julian Assange a pardon if he denied Russia link to hack'

Zelensky and Assange were both asked to make public announcements. Nice consistent pattern here.

No, they just refuse to act on the leftists lies and exaggerations as if they are true.

What specific lies and exaggerations are you referring to?

No, they just refuse to act on the leftists lies and exaggerations as if they are true.

You mean they refuse to listen to witnesses who can provide first-hand testimony.

Here we go again..... More Russia garbage! The democrats are so damn desperate now.

White House spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, told reporters: “The president barely knows Dana Rohrabacher other than he’s an ex-congressman. He’s never spoken to him on this subject or almost any subject.”

“It is a complete fabrication and a total lie,” Grisham said. “This is probably another never-ending hoax and total lie from the DNC.”

From the article.

Why should anyone believe anything that Donald Trump or his mountpieces have to say without supporting evidence? More than 70% of the time he is not truthful in what he says. Sarah Sanders and Sean Spicer were caught in their lies on a daily basis and then the tried to lie to cover it up.

Why would President Trump have to offer Assange a pardon to say something he said publically three years ago?
😂😂😂
I'm calling BS.

😂
so The Daily Beast reported this as Rohrabacher trying to convince President Trump of this in 2017 (6 months after Assange already said it publically) but in 2020 they report it as President Trump directing Assange to "cover up" crimes in exchange for a pardon. Got it.

Ooopsie! Looks like the lefties forgot to do a little fact checking. But, they are so prone to run with anything anti Trump, they get so giddy! They forget that it's easy to make this stuff up, because the leftist news is so willing to put it out there.

I'm sure there is some really solid evidence to back this up. Care to post it?

Its not like Trump has a pattern of pardoning people he is interested in. As we all know, he is very tough on corruption.

That's around the time the offer was allegedly made.

You really need to make at least a slightly credible case before you start calling witnesses, LOL!

Romney and Alexander felt the case was very well made.

Actually, all the major news outlets are reporting what Assange’s lawyers claimed in a London court Wednesday, which is that they would provide evidence that then-Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) promised Assange a pardon or some other favor related to a U.S. prosecution if he provided information absolving Russia of responsibility for hacking Democratic Party emails in 2016.

Assange’s lawyer, Edward Fitzgerald, said he had a statement from another Assange lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, that shows “Mr. Rohrabacher going to see Mr. Assange and saying, on instructions from the president, he was offering a pardon or some other way out, if Mr. Assange … said Russia had nothing to do with the DNC leaks.”

As with all claims by Assange, it’s worth skepticism and careful assessment.

The first thing to note is that Assange’s credibility is very questionable, and he has plenty of reason to make such an allegation. He is fighting extradition to the United States, and one of the ways you can beat extradition is by arguing that you are being targeted politically. This claim could feed into such an effort.

The White House on Wednesday flatly denied authorizing such an offer and distanced itself from Rohrabacher.

The article explores rohrabacher's meeting with Asasange in 2017 and claiming to have "earth-shattering" for the president, etc.

So. We'll see.

Donald Trump offered Julian Assange a pardon if he would say Russia was not involved in leaking Democratic party emails, a court in London has been told.

Assange’s barrister, Edward Fitzgerald QC, referred to evidence alleging that the former US Republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher had been to see Assange, now 48, while he was still in the Ecuadorian embassy in August 2017.

A statement from Assange’s lawyer Jennifer Robinson shows “Mr Rohrabacher going to see Mr Assange and saying, on instructions from the president, he was offering a pardon or some other way out, if Mr Assange … said Russia had nothing to do with the DNC leaks”, Fitzgerald told Westminster magistrates court.

Very interesting. I think it's better to be skeptical of this one given the source and lack of evidence but something to keep tabs on.

Dana Rohrabacher (R/CA) was the Kremlin's favorite US Congressman until he was defeated in 2018.

When it comes to Trump and a political quid-pro-quo, I now assume he's involved after the Ukraine debacle.

The extraordinary claim was made at Westminster magistrates court before the opening next week of Assange’s legal battle to block attempts to extradite him to the US.

He can only pardon US charges but that's a quid pro quo and its impeachable

An internet post totally proves it! Even one that admits everything except the direct link to Trump!

:lamo

Trumpists may for whatever reason high-five eachother for passing that kind of **** around, but no matter how stupid people are I won't say they're stupid enough to take that as evidence.

Well, if the White House said, i mean there's no reason for them to lie right? A President has never lied for political purposes. Never ever.

Obviously, you can neither read nor comprehend. We all know that Rohrabacher went to see Assange in August of 2017.

The "talking point" of this thread is that Trump promised Assange a pardon - see OP #1 ... which is obviously a lie.

Trump has claimed thru his lawyers that he cannot be investigated for anything and he is sticking to that. You of course agree with that assertion also. The GOP Senate says the American voters are the only ones who can determine if Trump is a crook too. So what is the point? We have no authority that can do anything no matter what Trump does. In other words he is King.

Get Trump. Kill him. Big mean orange man. Impee foady fie!

You could post this and at the end say "Never mind!" Trump could shoot someone on 5th Ave because Republican presidents are above the law."

I knowww. And his cult would STILL love him.

Care to explain how the DNC got that presented in a English court?

Are you asking people to attack the president? That's frowned upon, especially by the secret service.
