Donald Trump is going after Amazon and Jeff Bezos, again

Those rates took effect in 2018. I’m referencing taxes in 2017 under the old rules.

Most businesses expand by selling more, and that is what the tax cuts were intended to stimulate. The government can’t pick and choose who gets what tax break. FAANG for the most part, expands by acquiring others and usually ends up reducing employment. I get that. But the employees who lose fall onto our social burden.

Yeah, so good thing the lowering of the tax rates for corporations will ensure that Amazon continues to not pay a penny in taxes, and will ensure that Bezos and his executives pay even less in taxes. Yay Trump!

Trump really complaining about corporations and taxes when he just gave billions of dollars of tax money away to already loaded corporations

The "egomaniac in chief" is simply jealous and resentful of Bezo's wealth. The whole issue is no more complicated than that.

And how many were lost when Amazon crushed the small book store?

The studies on the economic benefits of big box stores is in; Vancouver said 'screw off' to all of them in 1999. The take more jobs than they make, it's how they are profitable.

Send and email and ask Amazon how much the contributed to internet security and research in the last ten years?

No multinational should ever be considered one of the "good guys". Both of our countries were born out of the entrepreneurship of hunters, explorers, traders and independent businessmen. I cannot think of any good thing EVER to come out of a multinational. When I think of Monsanto or Dow I do not leap to images of student bursaries or $ for cancer research.

Why amazon only? There are tons of companies that have near monopolies. Giant corporations that own nearly everything. He's only going after Amazon. I think because he's jealous Bezos actually created something to get his wealth, wasn't basically handed his wealth like Trump

Like the republicans really care about giant corporations while they have corporate **** permanently inserted into their mouths

President Trump clashes with Amazon about state and, local taxes for jiminy crickets this is over that? In my opinion who cares?

It's an attack on Bezos because of his coverage in WaPo.

Trump is trying to silence him.

Interesting point. Jeff Bezos has a very loud mouth using his Wapo Megaphone.

Don't campaign finance laws prohibit corporations from making political speech?

In the US, corporations are prohibited from making expenditures to influence federal elections. Similar restrictions exist in many state elections and have been upheld by the US Supreme Court. Generally we now have strict limits on their ability to advocate on behalf of specific parties or candidates.

So if WaPo is a corporation, (and it is) how the hell can they advocate for political positions or influence elections and get away with it?

Doen't even come close to addressing what I was talking about. The offered citation is an emotional rant at Trump and a running ad for Amazon

If you read my entry it CLEARLY stated that the city of Vancouver has banned big box stores because they take away jobs from all the small businesses in the region.

If you have something that proves Amazon doesn't destroy jobs in Vancouver Canada, please let them know...however unlike people in here I suspect they have done their research.

You are giving the American right too much credit for intelligence; as I understand it Trump is attacking Amazon because the owner also own the Washington Post which says truthful but hurtful things about the president who brags about grabbing ******s and mocks the physically disabled.

Like everything that annoys Trump it's a personal thing. It's why I believe Americans should pay the rest of the world for having elected him. We have never has as much whining and sniveling over Trump's personal peeves from all the other presidents put together. And now the rest of the world has to be bombarded by this **** on a daily basis. We didn't ask for this.

Maybe America should be hit with an international fine for every time the little **** whines about how everyone from the FBI to the Boy Scouts are out to get him. Really its gotten sickening. It's like living with a two year old.
