Oh, I dunno...

how about we ask the parents of children poisoned by Republican water management incompetence in Flint, Michigan?

Maybe they can put the thing into perspective.

It's Iowa. Let's not get too excited.

The "software mishap" wasn't a "mistake". It was a "feature".

Regarding running the country, tell me...would you rather have someone run the country who will do everything in their power, no matter how corrupt or illegal, to control you? If so...support the Dems.

Republicans were in charge of Flint?

I've been a democrat for 40 years, and since I went from republican in the 80s, to democrat later on, I always say to repubs this:

"If I believed half of what republicans say about democrats, I would still be one".

My curiosity let me to study their memes. They are false. Republicans just cannot grasp what being a democrat is all about, I can only conclude they are stupid, I'm talkin' doorknob dumb......

all the while they:

are currently tyring to take away health care for millions

gave massive tax breaks on rich people during economic prosperity ( that's insanity )

careened deficits to astronomical levels

put small farms out of business with tariffs

nominate presidents whose administrations commit more crimes than any other.

etc.

So, quit lying.

You mean like the "features" of the voting machines in Florida, Georgia and Ohio and elsewhere, made by GOP supporting companies that freely admit their bias and of course their machines have no paper trails? Or the "feature" of GOP candidates who are also running the election and happen to win by a small margin in an election with a number of irregularities? Those kind of features?

At least with this issue there is a paper trail... unlike most GOP run elections.

They sure are now and have been for nearly 4 years.

And the 50 years prior to that, when the water problem began, the place was run exclusively by democrats. Cant you libs take responsibility for anything? Seriously, if you are going to demand ever larger and more powerful government, the least you can do is hod them accountable when they F up.

The republican governor and repub legislature of Michigan, created "emergency managers" who, if they didn't like how local mayor were doing things, they would step in and take over, disregarding democratically elected officials and bypassing them.

well, that is what they did in Flint, and kids started getting sick.

Did you even read the article you posted? Emergency managers were appointed because these cities were bankrupt, corrupt and failing. THe appointment of the managers was done to SOLVE the problems one party democrat rule produced.

No...not like that at all.

This is a state "primary" election for the Dems. This is all on them.

btw, national elections are not run by the GOP.

Also...that "paper trail"...from what I heard, it's a picture taken with a cell phone and sent to someone else. Good luck keeping track of THAT paper trail.

Why in the hell does this process have to be so damned complicated? I just don't get it. When I saw the multiple gymnasiums in the precincts, I saw at the most, 100 people in any one of those gyms, tops. There's 1,678 precinct caucus sites with 100 people at each site. All they had to do was hand each voter a ticket and write their name down for that ticket number. Then have them get in line for one of the candidates and drop their ticket in the bucket for that candidate. That's it. Count the tickets and phone the numb)ers each candidate got into a center ticket taking tally taker. (say that 3 times fast).

The second k.i.s.s. process would involve seven people, one for each candidate, holding a great big calculator. Just hold it, right there in front of their chest. Have every voter line up, hand the calculator holder person their ticket that lets them vote, then step up, press the number one and have the calculator monitor double check to see they pressed the number one, and at the end of the line, press the = symbol and voila, instant tally. Phone it in.

How much cheaper, faster and accurate could it possibly be? Heck they could probably even find those big-ass calculators on Spencer Gifts website real cheap. It would all take, oh about 30 minutes from start to finish and save the country all this angst and stress.

Hey Iowa, I'll just keep flyin' over ya, thanks anyway.

As the book says everything Trump touches dies. And he has touched the soul of America.

Its hard to argue with any of that.

The problem with lead in the drinking water didn't start 50 years ago. The real problems began in the 1980's when GM downsized and Flint's economy started to die. n 2011, the state of Michigan took over Flint's finances after an audit projected a $25 million deficit.

In order to reduce the water fund shortfall, the city announced that a new pipeline would be built to deliver water from Lake Huron to Flint. In 2014, while the pipeline was under construction, the city turned to the Flint River as a water source. Soon after the switch, residents reported changes to the water's color, smell and taste.

Tests in 2015 by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Virginia Tech indicated dangerous levels of lead in the water at residents' homes. A class-action lawsuit charged that the state wasn't treating the water with an anti-corrosive agent, in violation of federal law. As a result, the water was eroding the iron water mains, turning the water brown. So no, the problem with lead in the water isn't something that started 50 years ago, it is a fairly recent problem for Flint.

Can't you repubes ever learn how to Google?

Prior to 1974 the city government of Flint Michigan was a nondenominational body. SINCE 1974 there has never...including currently...been a republican administration in Flint Michigan.

Not one.

They appointed emergency managers to try to fix the ****holes the democrats have created. Do you even have a CLUE who has been "leading" Flint? Detroit? Your arguments are AMAZINGLY dishonest.

If you read my comment a second time you might understand what I said. I said that currently (now) and for nearly the past 4 (four) years, we have been under a U.S. Republican majority administration. There, do you get it now?

elections should be handled federally until states prove that they are capable of avoiding partisan voter suppression and assorted ****ups. standardize the whole thing, and have a national primary day so everyone's vote counts. by the time i get to a voting booth, most of the field will have dropped out. that's ridiculous.

Not in Flint you havent been and its typical of you to just ignore the fact that it has been decades of rat politicians that ****ed everything up and you **** you5rself because the GOP managers assigned didnt undo all the previous damage in 3 whole years.

Someone makes a ****ty app and people lose their goddamn minds.

Relax.

At a time when people are looking for a contrast to the trump ****-show, it sure doesn't help. People are looking for competence and leadership. Assuming Iowa's caucus results are ever released, they'll always be suspect.

Iowa wants to be the harbinger of who is going to be the Dem nominee? **** them, in my opinion, they've lost that right.

They are the new Florida.

1. Paper data. Hard base. Incorruptible, kept safe.

2. People at each precinct know the outcomes from last night. If something is different, they'd know.

You have much more trust in the Iowa Democratic party than I.
