Why in the hell does this process have to be so damned complicated? I just don't get it. When I saw the multiple gymnasiums in the precincts, I saw at the most, 100 people in any one of those gyms, tops. There's 1,678 precinct caucus sites with 100 people at each site. All they had to do was hand each voter a ticket and write their name down for that ticket number. Then have them get in line for one of the candidates and drop their ticket in the bucket for that candidate. That's it. Count the tickets and phone the numb)ers each candidate got into a center ticket taking tally taker. (say that 3 times fast).
The second k.i.s.s. process would involve seven people, one for each candidate, holding a great big calculator. Just hold it, right there in front of their chest. Have every voter line up, hand the calculator holder person their ticket that lets them vote, then step up, press the number one and have the calculator monitor double check to see they pressed the number one, and at the end of the line, press the = symbol and voila, instant tally. Phone it in.
How much cheaper, faster and accurate could it possibly be? Heck they could probably even find those big-ass calculators on Spencer Gifts website real cheap. It would all take, oh about 30 minutes from start to finish and save the country all this angst and stress.
Hey Iowa, I'll just keep flyin' over ya, thanks anyway.
