I would imagine that would be pretty horrific to be exposed to blatant racism from someone you considered acquaintances or friends, on the flip side exposing your heritage and calling them out on it would likely give them pause to reevaluate their views as that would likely be rather uncomfortable for them as many that still holds those views do so in shame when it is exposed.
Well i definitely did, it was pretty intense actually but i dont know if i helped them. They definitely felt embarrassment and shame in the moment but how the conversation was going before i reviled why their words bothered me so much leads me to believe they now only think "IM" the exception and not the rule. That "IM" just different and all others are still the same.
there was also a third party there that was just as shocked and knew i was black so word did get out how they were and i know it caused drama with some of the other families . . especially since there were two black families on the team . . .
. . . guess the alcohol and safety of being in their own home let them expose who they really are
