Do you think a wall will be or can be built along our southern border?

Twist congresses' arm? Read:

He could have had his stupid wall.
Im no inside baseball guy when it comes to this stuff but as I understand it the dems approved the money but he would not of gotten it released to him because of how the deal was written. So the dems would of said ok on paper but there would not of been any funding to build it.

I'm no expert on chain migration or lottery visas either but Trump was very clear that he wants his comprehensive reform to include both those things and the wall in exchange for daca citizenship. Dems said no and now trump is militarizing the border. Trump has given up in getting what he wants. It's now up to congress to do whatever they are going to do about it. This is nothing but a game of political hardball.

shrug...

US citizens will have free passage. All others won't. Just like any other border checkpoint.

Name one that exists in the US for only one group. You can't get around the 14th amendment

I've traveled Hwy 77 from Robstown TX to Brownsville TX many times...and every time, I've come across Border Patrol checkpoints. On US land. A long way from the border.

Everyone has to stop. US citizens are allowed to pass freely. You don't even need a passport.

It probably won't be built. If it is, it'll cost a lot more than 25 billion. But it won't be built. Even the rest of the GOP doesn't really want it.

They know it would be an expensive failure. They also know that if against all probability it actually worked, it would remove a campaign issue. The lattermost is the reason they never pushed for massively expanding enforcement against employers, requiring meaningful citizenship/etc checks for employers. Do that stuff and they can't find work. If they can't find work, they don't come. But if they don't come, a lot of GOP donors are pissed because somewhere along the supply chains, they benefit.
