Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

I don't avoid the point.

You wanted to call Governess ignorant because she ate at Chick-fil-A from time to time. But you avoided HER point. Which was, the system is settled. SCOTUS declared same sex marriage legal, it is illegal to discriminate against homosexuals, bakers are getting sued and shut down over cakes. Chick-fil-A does not legislate, so no matter what the CEO does with his/her money, changing the laws ain't part of it. There is no Chick-fil-A gestapo running around trying to black-bag homosexuals. Governess eating at Chick-fil-A has no effect on her life other than that which is presented by the chicken sandwich itself.

One isn't ignorant, or overlooking anything, disregarding anything, not giving "due attention". One has merely measured the system and assessed the potential of Chick-fil-A to alter that and the effect of their consumerism at said establishment and found....the null set. System is settled.
Again, it does not end at marriage, the CEO has not changed his anti-gay stance.

Talk about avoiding the point?

And? So the CEO hasn't changed his mind. So what? What skin is it off your teeth? Is he now legislating? Does he have a police force that is capable of breaking up same sex marriages or throwing gay people into some unknown gulag? It doesn't matter what his stance is or not. People are free to think as they want, and regardless of what he thinks or who he donates to, the system does not change. It's the null set.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

My apologies.

Back to the straight dude questioning a gay person's bona fides, because they purchased and ate a chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A.

I don’t think I really got what was meant by “mansplaining” and sure didn’t see it as any kind of a big deal but I think I’m starting to understand.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

How the **** am I supposed to keep track of all the reasons I shouldn't buy stuff from various companies?

Is this thread because Chick Fil a somehow doesn't like gay people, and thus a rich person eating there drew backlash against them?

Straw straw straw. I am free to not go to that business because of the beliefs of the owners, because of what they materially support. You can do whatever you like. I find it abhorrent to support some corporation that would hold to ideas opposite to mine. YMMV.

My ideas are opposed to the idea of corporations in a general sense, so I probably shouldn't buy anything.

At least, if I bothered thinking about it that much, or researched how much harm they've caused because causing harm is the nature of corporations.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

I have but I won't eat there again.

I mean, if I was starving, and that was the one and only option, maybe.

The only reason I won't eat there has nothing to do with anything other than that I think that their food sucks.

Seriously. I cannot, for the life of me, see the attraction. Absolutely sucks.

I might eat there if I was already there, hungry, and didn't feel like walking anywhere else.

The chicken tastes too processed for me, loaded with sodium, and their french fries suck.
They do have great service however but other than that, I agree, I don't see the attraction.

Meh, I always give restaurants a second chance; anyone can have a bad day.

Bojangles exhausted all of their chances, though.

It's fast, and technically food?

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

If a person says they don't care, then yes, they are ignoring, ergo, ignorant, by SELF definition.

Definition:
ignorant
1 Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.

Definition:
ignore
1 Refuse to take notice of or acknowledge; disregard intentionally.

Definition:
confused
1 unable to think clearly; bewildered.

Yep. What's often needed is at least slightly analogous situations for people to grasp it, to accept it.

This is bouncing off the news today about Twitter's CEO eating at Chick-Fil-A and being bombarded with negative tweets because of it.

So - just curious - do YOU eat at Chick-Fil-A? Why or why not?

I do eat at Chick-Fil-A and I do so for three reasons. One the food is excellent. They fry the chicken and other items in peanut oil which is much healthier then the bulk lard that chains like KFC and other use. Two, the service is excellent and friendly. Three, it pisses off libruls.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

On occasion.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

If someone wants to take a principled stand against a company because they don't want to give them the resources they need to promote bigotry, that's fine by me, but I'm not that guy.

I've never eaten at a Chic-Fil-A but, as a chicken lover, who is currently baking some Chicken Thighs in his kitchen right now, I'll toss principles aside for some tasty chicken.

I have no problem with principled stand, however they should be based on fairness. What has the extreme left's panties in a wad about Chick-Fil-Let is the late owner's personal opposition to gay marriage. It did not lead to any discrimination of gay customers or gay workers or job applicants. Chick-Fil-Let does not check your sexual preference when you patronize their locations or apply for a job. What's the problem?

See my earlier post and review. The food is not healthy. That’s not a matter of debate. Then again many other paces aren’t either. If I’m going to have unhealthy fried chicken I’m going to Popeyes in part because it probably pisses off white supremists.

Yes because it’s goddamn delicious? What, do we have to eat food based on whether the company’s owners align with our political views?

That the Twitter CEO, someone known to have a left lean, is being attacked by other with a left lean is only yet another example of how the left eats its own.

Yet another fine example the mythical tolerance of the left.

He apparently apologized.

High Profile Person: I'm sorry...I shouldn't have tasted that sandwich. I have betrayed the faith!

Internet Justice Priest: To begin your penance, you must engage in weekly self-flagellation. Only then may you possibly be forgiven by your heavenly father!

Should he be pressured to resign his position?

ahem,

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hoo-ha

hoo-ha (plural hoo-has)

1.A fuss, uproar, commotion or stir; hype; brouhaha, hullabaloo.

There was a big hoo-ha about it in the papers, and then the world completely forgot the matter.

2.(slang, euphemistic) Vagina, vulva.

I've always heard #2 stateside, lol.
