Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

I cook/bake almost all the meals for my family. That being said, I love me some Taco Bell as well as Chick-fil-A.

If I'm on the road in pretty out there places, which I often am, I'll look for a subway (any sammich and be made as a salad) or if I have no other choice, the chicken soft tacos from TB are relatively harmless.

Hell, it's really easy usually to find a gas station/711 and just get some jerky and cashews.

Um, "near zero" is not zero, there is no, zero, indication that the owner has had a change of thought.....so why support a business that has not repented?

"repented" hahaha, you Evangelions.

lol

Anyway, the "business" doesn't discriminate. What the CEO does with his/her money is on them. If you don't want to eat their because someone donates to something you don't like or has a different opinion than you, that's fine. Your business. But it doesn't mean Governess is ignorant for eating there by noting that eating there or not eating there changes relatively nothing. Because that's just a fact.

Don't eat there, but there's very little impact.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

In short: the Chick-fil-A CEO and his non-profit organization have funded some anti-LGBT causes in the past. Some gay people still eat at Chick-fil-A because all they want from their food is that it tastes good. That is bad for reasons or something.

Also if you don't acknowledge the "or something", you're ignorant.

Re: Do you eat at Chick-Fil-A?

Was Chick-Fil-A directly involved or was it done on the CEOs private time and dime. If so, I don't really see gay people boycotting a restaurant that the CEO has probably never set foot in.

Its a franchise right, an owner pays a franchise fee, but he owns his own restaurant. If that owner of that store, was all "I hate gays" then yeah, they shouldn't eat at that restaurant.

But boycott every franchise? Nah.

It is the CEO AND Chik-fil-A’s non-profit organization. So if you really want to get nit picky then you can say a small percentage of what the franchise makes ends up in the pockets of that CEO or in the coffers of their non-profit organization so by not doing business with them you prevent that particular amount of money from going to their causes.

I just can’t live my life scrutinizing every little transaction like that. I pay for the product or service and then we are done.

If a person says they don't care, then yes, they are ignoring, ergo, ignorant, by SELF definition.

No, apathy isn't the same as ignorance. That's stupid. Additionally, noting that one's particular actions will have little to no effect is also not ignorance.

It seems you have issues with people who think differently than you and wish to claim they are ignorant. But that's straight up stupid. Apathy and realistic expectations are not akin to ignorance.

Learn the difference....see, that's ignorance.

"Ignorance" and "ignorant" is defined as lacking information. You used that definition first.

Here, you are saying she refuses to care. If she did not care, she would be "indifferent," "apathetic," or "uninterested."

Gay people are a practical people, for the most part. They aren't going to punish the local vendor for the national assholes actions.

Now if that local vendor was anti gay, they'd shut that **** down.

Lack of concern....and or.....not caring.....is half dozen or 6 of another. Hair splitting while ignoring the point, if you are supporting someone who is working against your interests, then you are playing a dumb game.

But that that "someone" has functionally little effect on the system, then it's the null set.

And it's not "hair splitting". You are specifically trying to use a term incorrectly to add emotional impact to your statements. Claiming someone is "ignorant" when they aren't because you're trying to demonize their opinions and thoughts. It's purposeful propaganda, calling it out is not "hair splitting".

neglect, disregard, ignore, overlook, slight, forget mean to pass over without giving due attention.

Back to the straight dude questioning a gay person's bona fides, because they purchased and ate a chicken sandwich.

I never made an argument that one single non-sale has an effect. Strawman.

And you still avoid the point.

Newspeak gave way to alternate facts. Perhaps in this case it would be appropriate to say "Gimme Some of That Alternate Truth."

Again, a total ignoring of the "where", focusing on a "sandwich". Pure straw.

How do you know "due attention" wasn't given? Just because someone didn't arrive at the same conclusion as you? perhaps "due attention" was given, the conclusion being that the system is now set, and Chick-fil-A isn't going to change that. And if they aren't going to change that, what's the harm in enjoying a delicious chicken sandwich?

You ain't Patrick Swayze, it ain't your way or the highway.

The entire point here is that Gov has a different perspective than you and based on that you’ve determined her to be ignorant.

I don't avoid the point.

You wanted to call Governess ignorant because she ate at Chick-fil-A from time to time. But you avoided HER point. Which was, the system is settled. SCOTUS declared same sex marriage legal, it is illegal to discriminate against homosexuals, bakers are getting sued and shut down over cakes. Chick-fil-A does not legislate, so no matter what the CEO does with his/her money, changing the laws ain't part of it. There is no Chick-fil-A gestapo running around trying to black-bag homosexuals. Governess eating at Chick-fil-A has no effect on her life other than that which is presented by the chicken sandwich itself.

One isn't ignorant, or overlooking anything, disregarding anything, not giving "due attention". One has merely measured the system and assessed the potential of Chick-fil-A to alter that and the effect of their consumerism at said establishment and found....the null set. System is settled.

Good thing he’s here to tell Gov the right way to be a gay woman.

No, questioning how a gay person can make an argument where they don't care about what a corporation is funding, ie anti-gay interests.
