From what I have heard, and from what I know about trying cases, there was sufficient reasonable doubt especially on the First Degree Murder charge
I haven't followed the case, only heard what's been on the news, which I didn't pay that much attention to.
I suspect that the child died accidently and the mother just stuck the body in the trunk or something and then later the parents tried to clean up the mess.
Like planning to use chloroform on the childs mother to "fake" an abduction or something.
Patents will go to great lengths, and if they lost their grandchild due to their daughters stupidity already, at least they still have their daughter. Who tbey might lose as well if she gets sent to prison for negligence.
I really don't buy complete innocence, however.
