I was in the military between 1969 and 1972 and although I was at first scheduled to go to Viet Nam, I eventually never went. I am what is called a Viet Nam "era" verteran, which is different from a Viet Nam Veteran. When people ask I always, and I mean always explain the difference, to do otherwise is to lesson the acts of bravery of those who had to go over there. Now we have Pompeo whose Wikipedia page suggests he served in the Gulf War. This, his serving in the Gulf War, has been used by several of his supporters in Congress as part of the reason to give him their support. My question is if this isn't true that he served in the Gulf War, why does he not explain that not only Congress, but to the American people and especially those who served in that war?
