Did Barr/Trump get Shep Smith ousted at Fox News?

I'll be surprised if Neil Cavuto is not the next to be shown the door at FOX News. He's been known to get in Trump's face from time to time. Here is a recent example. This must have pissed Trump off something fierce.

He said he has a post employment non-compete agreement, not a non disclosure agreement but it's possible there is both in his Fox contract. It seems out of character that he would have let himself be driven away by a shill like Carlson or by anyone for that matter. Shame he is gone, especially now when so much is at stake with the mind control platform at Fox.

You dont watch FOX so you would have no way of knowing whats going on there. Unless, of course, you are simply repeating what you heard on some liberal 'mind control platform.'

Smith apparently got his panties wadded over something. I'd expect he'll show up at CNN or someplace similar where he can give free reign to his anti-Trumpism and pass it off as news.

Shep Smith quit Fox news abruptly, but was it his decision? The White House and especially Trump have been on Fox News about those who who work there who report the facts that do not put Trump in a good light. The day or so before Shep Smith "quit", Barr meets with Rupert Murdoch, the owner and true boss at Fox News for what reason we are not sure. Then Shep Smith "suddenly quits" with no notice. So did Shep Smith quit Fox News or did the Trump Administration has him ousted at Fox News for not following the Trump line and agree with the White House "facts" Is this a warning to others at Fox News to toe the line?

If you pay any attention to FOX and in particular Shep, the shock wore off rather quickly. This has been coming for quite some time.
It's not earth shattering. Life moves on.

I hope you're right ... but who else would want to hire that wet noodle that had already announced that he would never interview Trump ...

Con artists always try to "stack the deck" in their favor. They do not want facts, they want the con to continue unabated. If the con is exposed for what it is, they lose and every con artist is out to win for themselves and never want the con exposed.

It is following the scammer guidelines "always keep the scam alive", especially against their "johns/lackeys". Get rid of anyone who can expose them! that is what happened to Shep Smith.

nah, Tweety's personal AG just met with Murdoch because they're great buds and wanted to have lunch together. the timing of Smith's departure is just total coincidence even though now he can't even work because of a non-compete clause.

He can work, just not at CNN as an anchor and not at MSNBC as an anchor.
He could also move to California, where my closest friend who is still a union DIT/loader says that most non-compete clauses are actually unenforceable, although I suspect Shep's clause is probably very well written and contains specifics.
But Shep is certainly free to be a producer and he is free to star in his production as talent, and he's even free to do independent journalism.
Just not as a regular staff member in the position of news anchor, and that is only for a period of time, a cooling off period.

But he can do lots of journalism during his cooling off period.
And...I wager lots of outlets might be very interested in him if he is involved in the right kind of projects.

Naturally, you have zero evidence of that. He wasn't fired. He quit. Fox is the only place where they make some attempt to separate news from opinion. Carlson, Hannity and Ingraham make no pretense that they are non-partisan. They have opinion shows. The rest of the MSM freely integrates their Trump hate into everything they report and pass it off as news. If that's what Smith wants to do, maybe it's better he goes over there.

Who cares?

Smith will find a home at CNN...and he'll get paid more money to let talking potato heads bad-mouth Trump for him.

Don Lemon should be scared.

You are exactly right. FOX's programming is clearly separated into news and opinion and on both, there is representation from both sides. FOX doesn't have CNN hate panels and they treat everyone with respect. FOX is also quick to apologize for any guest who goes over the line. Can NEVER say that for CNN.
I find it telling that the left thinks Shep had to lie on live tv, or that he WOULD lie on live tv, about his departure.
I, for one, believe Shep.

By the way, Sirius/XM just opened a brand new studio in Los Angeles, and Shep's non-compete clause probably does not include RADIO.

So guess what? If the POTUS channel (Politics Of The United States) wants to hire him, there isn't a thing Fox News can do about it and he could follow any number of POTUS air personalities with his own show.

According to Trumpsters all news, discussions, opinions at Fox must be 110% goose stepping and lock step in line with Trump or else. Dozens of people on Fox, but 2-3 news people disagree with what Trump is doing and Trump's cult wants them gone.

The hold Trump has on his cult is AMAZING!!!

Shep understands that Trump doesn't do interviews. He does solo performances interrupted from time to time by questions that pass right by.

I think you're totally lost here ...

I was responding to a post about Cavuto, not Sheppy ... and Trump gave a lot of interviews on Fox ... by phone and in person.

Go back to sleep.

Shep has done many a commentary. I don't know what you're going on about. The only reason you like him is that he has done anti-Trump coverage, not because of any alleged facts or excuse like that. Let's just be honest here.

Anti-Trump coverage was factual information, it wasn't contrived or made up by Shepard Smith, he reported the facts without putting his own spin on it like Hannity and Tucker. Check any one of Shepard Smiths past news shows and you can check his facts yourself. A fact is just a fact, period. You just don't want to believe facts, you're still in the Trump bubble. I recall several Trump supporters after the Mueller report was made public, when told about the several different instances of obstruction of justice cited in the report, they were astonished. "Oh, I never heard that". Yeah, that's because Fox never told them.

Shep provided plenty of opinion commentary beyond facts. Again, you only liked because it was against Trump. If he did opinion pieces in support of Trump you'd be singing a different tune. To be clear, your opinion of him has absolutely nothing to do with him doing factual commentary or not but it is 100% about him being antagonistic of Trump.

If it was just factual stuff then I'll wait for you to praise Ben Shapiro as well.

No, it's not because, in your opinion - not mine, that he was 100% antagonistic towards Trump. If Shepard Smith was doing nothing other than what Hannity, Carlson and Ingraham do on a daily basis, I would have never watched Shepard Smith because that would have made him a compromised Trump toadie like the others are, and that's not what Shepard Smith has staked his reputation on. Who is Ben Shapiro?

He's about what Hannity is. He would be the functional equivalent of a right wing evangelistic christian, except he's Jewish. If he ever says anything of value, it would be a first time.

Here's a clip of Shep from over a year ago. It must have pissed Trump off, Shep saying that journalists are "not the enemy of the people," directly contradicting Trump. I'm surprised Shep lasted this long, what with his subversive take on a free press. If he were in many other countries (North Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia come to mind) Shep would have disappeared long ago. Unfortunately for Trump, that pesky 1st amendment in there, preventing him from wielding the power he so richly deserves to discipline those in the press who treat him "so unfairly."
