And the reason you're not going to be able to get them to deplore it is because they just about all suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

Because they suffer TDS, they're almost unconsciously afraid that if they say anything bad about BLM and ANTIFA, about BLM's bullying, rioting, looting, assaulting and murdering, then they'll thereby be agreeing with Trump. :shock:

Did you watch the video? Cruz, for once actually made a valid point, the "Organization BLM" is fundamentally Marxist radical. But, by far, most BLM protestors don't know that and they AbsaByGodLutely DO NOT support and/or condone violence. I don't blame Senator Hirono for walking out on Cruz's ax grinding, she points out that she has/had/does condemn violence. Antifa, specifically, only have anything to do with these protests because they are anarchists that will use any excuse to wreck havoc and cause discord. Blaming "the left" for Antifa and such groups is exactly the same as blaming "the right" for White Supremacist's.

From the snippet of her walking out on Cruz and considering the source (Cruz) I probably wouldn't blame her - IF I knew more. I think calling her "embarrassingly cowardly" is just Right Wing chest thumping; I didn't see anything that supports that.
