I doubt many people who watch confirmation hearings are “on the fence” types who can be swayed or motivated by some raucous protesters or antagonistic Senators. The Dem voters wants Dem Senators to fight Kavanaugh tooth and nail (even though it’s pointless). And any swing voter watching the hearings probably won’t determine their vote by this week-long dog and pony show. Not for nothing, but Kavanaugh is polling relatively poorly for a Supreme Court nominee. It’s not all hands across America for his selection.

corporate enablers for their power and economic agenda...to get past the highest court.

The first refuse of the new tyranny...is the courts.

We wouldn't have Citizens United without a partisan modern right wing court. We have had right wing justices claiming fealty to the
constitution to then soon as they vote...are capitalist fascists.

Kavanaugh is another single big step toward that. Kavanaugh sides with the corporation which doesn't even exist except in the abstract (on paper) can be found nowhere in the constitution and yet...from today's right holder of all power AND the same constitutional rights as you.

Without partisan right wing activists judges, property (money) would not be speech. Real conservatives understand that no citizen (or association) should be able to have more free speech in the bank than you...own more speech.

There exists no two better constitutional rights invented for money and the corporation than these and will bring on a constitutionally protected capitalist fascism to America.

I believe it's obvious most people don't watch the hearings. However most people do have common sense, are mindful, and realize there is more to this country than politics. Not true with the kook left. They lack common sense to pour piss out of a boot, think only of themselves and their beloved socialism, and will resort to violence and intimidation whenever they feel it necessary and screw you and your cousin if you think differently than them. Decent normal people are turned off by that and was reflected by the kookers losing 1200+ seats nation wide during BO's regime.

What is hilarious is the left going ape **** over old emails that may possibly show Kavanaugh's stance on abortion when the left weren't going to vote for Kavanaugh anyway, largely on what they perceived to be his stance on abortion. What possible difference do these emails even make if Democrats were going to blackball Kavanaugh anyway?

The lefties showed their love for McCain recently because McCain would sometimes vote across party lines while Democrats refuse to cross party lines themselves, exactly as Zimmer noted in his OP. Democrats expect Republicans to work with them while they have absolutely no desire to work with Republicans.

That's because there is much at stake here on this appointment and the left's resistance is near 100%, which unfairly skews the polling numbers. Look at his past nomination and it was totally opposite. But, you are right that both the right and the left are putting on a dog and pony show, particularly the left since the midterms are coming up while others are jockeying for 2020 runs. Even though the left really can't stop the nomination they are going to try getting as much press out of it as they can.

Wow. I'm impressed. Wish the kook left would listen to you. Fact is, Dems know they can't stop this from happening so they are playing partisan politics, hoping to get more votes in both 2018 and 2020. But, I don't think they realize how bad this makes them look to moderates and independents. They're playing to their base, just as Trump plays to his base. Neither side seems to realize that it is moderate and independent votes they need. The base is going to vote their way anyway.

But the arrest accomplishes nothing, other than satisfying their own desires that they did something, even though it was in vain. Kavanaugh will sit on the court. You can't prove he lied under oath. The best you can prove is that Kavanaugh saw things differently 15 years ago than what he appears to be saying today. You don't know that his views on things haven't changed in those 15 years.
