Deficit-swelling Trump White House plans to use deficit against Democrats

So all the CR's Trump has signed don't add to the deficit or the debt?
IT is a FACT The debt went UP MORE in Trumps first fiscal year then it did in at least 5 of the 8 years Obama was in office
and as YOU and Trump said it was a good economy
IT was a BAD economy when Obama was in office and a good economy when Trump was in yet the debt went up MORE then it did in 5/6 of the Years Obama was in
I see you can't answer the question does the deficit go on the debt or not?
it does and it is you who needs to go back and learn how Budgets and CR's work and if they add to the debt or not
the Deficit does matter because it adds to the debt
Have a nice night
PS
it doesn't matter IF the President doesn't sign the budget
HE has to sign CR's and he is responsible for those CR's and the fact that they add to the debt
the debt he is responsible for
have a nice night

You ought to know by now that I really don't give a damn what you think or what you post because you truly have no idea what you are talking about. you can try to re-write history but you cannot change it nor can I or anyone else change your mind so I will let the American people decide on Trump regarding the economic performance

A CR is a specific bill for a specific department, it doesn't constitute the entire budget therefore again you have no idea what you are talking about as usual. I will let the American people speak regarding the Trump economy and deficit

The White House plan is to slash every program and leave military funding the same. However, the military budget would actually be increased due to White House plans to raid the Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) fund, which no previous administration has ever before raided, and then add these pilfered funds to the Pentagon base budget.

As always with Republicans, they spend like mad dogs while in office, and then demand drastic spending cuts from succeeding Democrat administrations when they are the minority party. This is also the Trump/GOP recipe.

Insofar as the House, currently under Liberal control, is RESPONSIBILE for funding the government, assigning guilt to the Dems is highly appropriate.

well maybe IF YOU would bother to read what other people post the things they bothered to RESEARCH you wouldn't be as stupid as you are.
I have not EVER tried to re-write History I have gone back and pulled out the FACTS
YOU on the other hand very seldom ever back up your posts with places where you can show us the FACTS
where I and most everybody else on here do I would say just off hand I do it 10 times more then you do.
YOU have implied ( said ) that if a President doesn't sign a budget into law he is not responsible for it or what it adds to the debt
When a President signs a CR and it adds to the debt it IS his Responsibility
You want to hold Obama accountable for the 8 years he was in office for the debt but NOT Trump or Bush because they didn't sign their budgets.
and again where have I ever said a CR was the whole budget?
I never did you are just lying and trying to turn the tables
YOU are the one trying to change History
I will ask you again like a lot of people on here why can't you answer a few simple questions?
Why has Trump run up the debt in his first fiscal year in a " GOOD " economy MORE then Obama did in 6 out of the 8 years he was in office ( in a BAD economy )
and I would like to remind you Trump had a Republican controlled Congress and they could pass a budget with NO problem
IF they could push through a tax cut for the rich and large Corporations why couldn't they pass a budget
and why didn't they get anything else done?
Why haven't they " repealed AND replaced " the ACA?
Fact is they were too busy taking care of their rich donators and didn't give a sh-- about all the American people, the poor. the Middle class NOBODY
as it stands now there are millions of people that will lose healthcare in the near future IF Trump and the Republicans have their way
as I asked before what happened to repeal and replace ( with a better system , like they said they would , just MORE Trump and Republican LIES)
8.5 Billion dollars Trump wants for a useless wall and he is dismantling the little bit of healthcare some middle class / lower income people and poor people had.
don't you think ( seeing most drugs come through ) they should increase security at boarder crossings and airports like the DEMS want to do and put more Boarder Patrol agents on the Boarder
I guess not
YOU would rather see Trump build a useless wall in his Honorer and take away healthcare from millions of people
have a good night

What you continue to show is how intellectually dishonest you are and nothing more than a political hack indoctrinated by the leftwing that loves using people like you

You have no understanding of the budget process, what a continuing resolutions is, the difference between a submitted budget and an approved budget and always buy what you are being told by someone else.

Trump has been in office 2 years not 8 and you still make false claims about Bush and Trump all out of ignorance. It wasn't Bush that created the 842 billion dollars stimulus, failed to credit the deficit with TARP payments, take over GM/Chrysler, Bail out AIG, create a 100 billion dollar Afghanistan supplemental in 2009, waste billions of dollars on Solyndra, and create the worst recovery in U.S. history Obama's economic poll numbers were in the 20's at the end of his term

You have no understanding at all the true role of the federal gov't calling the border wall a waste of money ignoring that it is an investment in defense and cutting expenses is a return on that investment but as I have stated before, there is absolutely no reason to continue to debate an issue with someone so poorly informed and so partisan who cannot admit when wrong.

What are you talking about?
Where have I ever said Trump was in office 8 years?
wow you are getting a little nuts in your old age.
He has been in office just over two years and has submitted 3 YES THREE budgets You are telling us he didn't submit 3
By the Constitution the incoming President has to submit his first budget almost right away Usually mind
have a nice day they get it in by March
and then every Jan. after that
again I UNLIKE you have backed up the things I have said about Bush and Trump
with facts and as for Trump most of what I have posted shows he has run up the debt more then Obama did in 5/6 of the 8 years he was in office
You really have to start doing a little research into subjects before you post and open that tiny right wing indoctrinated mind of yours.
have a nice day

You are comparing the 8 years of Obama to the first two years of Trump and there is no comparison, Trump blows the Obama results away. You want to claim Obama brought us out of recession and then blame Bush for the deficit in 2009, how exactly did Obama do that without spending?

You want to claim that the Trump's deficit are higher than 5 out of 8 Obama budget years which is another lie as Trump has never had a trillion dollar deficit which Obama had his first four years in office. Submitting a budget is one thing, getting it approved is another, you don't understand or appear to understand that reality

You want to blame Bush for TARP adding to the deficit but not giving credit for having TARP repaid.

You want everything bad that happened to be Bush's fault ignoring what Obama inherited, TARP, Democratic Congress, no budget and for some reason believe that continuing resolutions caused the deficits but apply no revenue to those resolutions

You are nothing more than a partisan liberal hack either seeking attention or simply ignoring history and reality because of an inability to admit when you are wrong

The House can't raise taxes on their own. Nice try shifting the GOP blame to the Dems.

So why is raising taxes so important to you? What is the assurance that any tax increase will go to lowering spending and still keep the strong economic growth we currently have, growth being felt by the American people but obviously not you

Are there ever any consequences in that liberal world of yours for higher taxes? How does higher taxes and less take home pay affect consumer spending which is the number one component of GDP?

And I have noticed that it is truly a waste of time dealing with many here in this forum who are unwilling to admit they are wrong and can never change their mind.

You do not know the difference between empirical opinions and normative opinions. You keep expecting us to agree with you that things should be skewed ever more in favor of the well to do.

Republicans give that same excuse for the Reagan deficits.

Conservative does not post facts. He posts his own irritable attitudes. His feelings are not truths about the universe; they are facts about him.

Republicans and Democrats do not want to lower spending. We want to increase spending for different kinds of projects. Trump wants to spend more money on the wall he promised his gullible followers would be paid for by Mexico. He also wants to pay for a Space Force. Democrats want to pay more for programs that will help Americans get through life. Also, we want to pay for our problems by soaking the rich and the corporations. Republicans pretend that they can pay for their programs with economic growth and painless, unspecified spending cuts.

I keep waiting for you to post empirical opinions or data to support your normative opinions which are personal and ideological in nature

Empirical data would show that we have a growing economy not a finite one that everyone has the opportunity to be part of, we are built on equal opportunity not equal outcome. You ignore empirical data when it doesn't suit your normative opinion or ideology

Like most liberals you look at numbers and never costs. what is the cost of illegal immigration in this country and how do you know that a wall won't reduce that cost? In an 4.4 TRILLION dollar govt. 8 billion is a drop in the bucket. How do you know the wall won't be paid for by Mexico? There are other ways to pay for the wall rather than a check.

Soaking the rich is nothing but class envy and jealousy as apparently you are incapable of competing in a private sector economy so let's dumb down the country and implement socialist economic policies that destroy incentive

Both averaged about 18% of GDP collected. But under Carter we spent a little less. Notice a pattern?

An assertion like that should be documented. Also, I thought Republicans were in favor of less government spending.

This data comes originally from The Wall Street Journal. From the administration of Harry Truman to that of George W. Bush there have been more jobs created every year under Democrat presidents than Republican presidents. With an average of 2,600,000 a year, Carter beats Reagan with 2,000,000 jobs created per year.

The print in the chart is small, so click on the first web address.

--------

Here’s a look at job creation under each president since the Labor Department started keeping payroll records in 1939. The counts are based on total payrolls between the start of the month the president took office (using the final payroll count for the end of the prior December) and his final December in office.

Because the size of the economy and labor force varies, we also calculate in percentage terms how much the total payroll count expanded under each president. The current President Bush, once taking account how long he’s been in office, shows the worst track record for job creation since the government began keeping records. –Sudeep Reddy

Look, as always you by the headlines and not the story. I'm not going to discuss Bush's job performance because it is distorted in the numbers you're posting or the headlines you're posting.

Prior to 2008 Busch had created over 9 million jobs and that comes from bls.gov data.

regardless none of what you post matters because total jobs created included the 8 to 9 million part time for economic reasons jobs that Obama created.

During Obama's term a job lost that returns isn't a new job created. When the recession began there were 146 million Americans employed, when Obama left office there were 152 million Americans employed that is an increase of 6 million new jobs and that is the same number that bush created in 8 years.

Of those 152 million jobs in January 2017 6 million of them were part time for economic reasons. Today the number is 157 million employed of which 4.3 million are part time for economic reasons. You see headline numbers don't matter the quality of jobs created do

An assertion like that should be documented. Also, I thought Republicans were in favor of less government spending.

https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/2019-01/51134-2019-01-historicalbudgetdata.xlsx

Avg Revenue to GDP
78-81 - 18.3%
82-89 - 17.5%

Spending
78-81 - 20.1%
82-89 - 21.7%

Republicans are in favor of less spending. That doesnt mean they know how to get there. Especially when half the country wants more spending. And controls half of congress. Furthermore spending is driven by mandatory spending, programs mostly put in place by democrats and difficult to undo, especially when there is no renewal period. In the last 50 years, federal health care spending alone has risen from 1-5% of GDP. Mandatory spending consumes 3 trillion in revenue, and we only collect 3.5.
