I like it (without the plaque). I don't see it as a girl standing up to an actual angry bull -- that would be a stupid move. It could mean not being afraid to face your fears, fighting a tough battle (physically or mentally), not cowering in the face of trials, etc.

Young women do earn more than young men, they do in fact get better grades in school, and they are in fact treated better by society. When was the last time a girl got shamed for acting like a girl?
