I started to see modern feminism back 1984-1985 as I lived with a gaggle of self professed radical dyke feminists at the Hedrick House co-op at Michigan State University. They liked me enough to invite me to hang out with them at the gay bars where they often met up with the fellow radical dyke feminsts, many of whom lived at the other housing co-ops. I was a liberal then you see, a self professed feminist with a somewhat radical bent myself as I was getting deep into Zen at that point which was a ****ing radical thing to do in 1984.... anyways one of the feminists I lived with took a real interest in me, we had a thing were we would go together to listen to folk music artists, her girlfriend who also lived in the house did not like that sort of thing plus she was a Vet student and had time issues because that was a demanding field of study. What I am telling you is that I was on the inside way back then, I know damn well what I am talking about, I listened as they talked amoungst themselves on where they wanted feminism to go, I listened to how much hate they had for men generally....and then over the years I watched feminism go exactly in the direction they had wanted to go. By the early 90's the radical dyke contingent of the feminist movement had won, the conservatives and all other non-conformist to their ideology were driven out.

And yet, none of that is representative of feminism, which is not about hating men at all. Feminists want fairness and equality, and are weary of living under the yoke of traditional patriarchy. It isn't about you, Hawkeye.

Either that or they prefer me? My first wife pursued me first. I actually wasn't even aware that she was interested until one of her old beaus suggested that she was, and that I might want to go to lunch with the two of them. After that it was rather obvious, I guess.

However I pursued the girl I am married to NOW (Karen) from the day I met her in 1984 until the day she suddenly realized I really might be worth connecting to in 1997. We had dated a few times back in the 80's with a a lot of good personal "chemistry" but she'd already enlisted in the Navy, so boo hoo, poor Jeff, off she went.
One bad marriage for each of us and suddenly we were both in limbo.
Her older sister had married my brother so I would see her from time to time at family functions. The chemistry was still there, and even my first wife detected it much to my surprise. I guess I wasn't hiding it well.

My first wife was very extroverted. She had been previously married to a famous Hollywood screenwriter/producer so she was very "Hollywood" in a brash and outspoken way, and quite brilliant, too. For a few short years we did make a great couple.

Karen on the other hand is quite different, a bit introverted and reserved, but warm and friendly as she gets to know people.
Her strength is a matter of endurance and logic. The whole family teases her by calling her Spock sometimes, not because she lacks emotion or passion, but because she sometimes attempts to find logic in everything, even when there is none to be found, hence one of her more amusing and endearing qualities.

Oh without question there has been some overshoot. We've all seen it, whether it's Al Franken being demonized as if he is the equal of Harvery Weinstein or the fruitless effort to pin a 37 year old accusation of assault with no evidence against an unrepentant drunk seeking a seat in the SCOTUS, the pendulum indeed swings too far before beginning a long and slow move in the other direction.

By the way, it's not that I don't believe Christine Blasey Ford...I am sure she was assaulted and it might have even been by Kavanaugh but her testimony had zero legal substance, certainly not after 37 years. But so many just wanted to grant her the weight and gravitas of absolute truth simply because: metoo...and that isn't enough after 37 years.

And "metoo" isn't feminism. It's a form of justice seeking but it isn't the universal definition of feminism but you won't convince these people of that because for them, metoo IS the face of feminism and feminazis.

Graphic sex education, including homosexual sex education, is being taught in a growing number of public schools under relative clouds of secrecy and deception. Not knowing and not believing the facts will do nothing to make them untrue or change them.
