Corporatist dems, this is an example why progressives oppose you

Check the bill submitted by Bernie and other Senators. It's for the American people.

Did it pass? I said "get passed". Besides, the large corps already got theirs. Had this been done during a longer time period, it would have been all one bill. Which brings up another truism, the rich and large corps always gets their end first and the rest later and likely less than said.

You haven't seen it because it has yet to happen. The republicans are at the stage in their 'game' where the end is in sight, so from now on it's slash and burn, take all you can, they're going to steal whatever they can while they have the ways and means to do it. Nothing else matters at this point to them except to help themselves and their wall street buddies to drain the US coffers.

This is when Reps are at their best and Dems are over a barrel. Time is of the essence because those with the least can't hang on any longer. So, if the Dems want anything for the avg American and those with the least, to get votes from the Reps they're gonna hafta give away to the rich and large corps or be called stonewallers who are preventing Americans from getting what they critically need. The Dems cave every time. They're too weak to speak-out the truth.

I have yet to see a bill of any nature that provides anything of any scale for the avg American get passed unless business gets a sizable cut. The rich and large corps can't get what they get without the help of the Dems. The avg American and those with the least don't get anything from the Reps unless the rich and/or large corps get more than they deserve/need. I've never seen it any other way.

Oh we low folks on the money totem pole get it but it ain't money...

I can remember a time when they used to tell us to tighten the belt another notch and enjoy it...

I completely agree. Only a few democrats have shown any spine. I realize their hands are pretty much tied but they should be speaking -- no, shouting out more. Get on the networks, do interviews, be visible and make their voices heard by the public. Make the public aware that all these bills passed by the republican senate are being passed for the benefit of big corporations and hedge fund managers.

"House Democrats on Tuesday unveiled a sprawling 1,815-page, $3 trillion coronavirus relief package that spurns many of the key demands of progressive activists and lawmakers while including proposals that immediately provoked backlash, such as a tax cut for the wealthy and a provision that would allow corporate lobbying organizations to take part in federal small business loan program."

"The bill, which the House is expected to vote on as early as Friday, does not contain recurring direct cash payments, a paycheck guarantee, cancellation of rent and mortgage payments, or expansion of Medicare to cover the rapidly growing number of unemployed and uninsured Americans.

The legislation does, however, propose an expansion of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) eligibility to include corporate lobbying organizations—which aggressively pushed for the change..."

""Democratic leadership has had plenty of input from progressive thinkers over the past couple of months. They just care more about the input from corporate lobbyists," tweeted HuffPost senior reporter Zach Carter."

It's not all bad, but it's a lot worse than it should be.

There isn't a 1/4" of difference between republicans and democrats when it comes down to protecting their campaign contributors.

Rushed is not an excuse nor an explanation. The lawmakers have PLENTY of input, as the quote in my OP says, from progressives, and are making clear choices to reject policies good for the American people and to instead choose policies the lobbyists want. It's not an accident because they're rushed. It's corruption.

True. And you did say that, but at the end, I both responded to the first part and think it's worth noting who is trying to pass better.

Excellent article which unfortunately demonstrates how ALEC conservative thinkers and campaign dollars have infiltrated the Democratic party. Again why I come out against Biden.

Glad you liked the article. Being against Biden in the primary was very important; being against him in the general would be a big mistake.

It is more conclusive that corporate special interest campaign money goes to both sides of the aisle thus they do not lose thus little change takes place as the majority Americans continue to get screwed on medical insurance leaving the majority
with "under insured" coverage aka death panels backed with bankruptcy filings.

"Mommy, I'm hungry." Dad: "Notch your belt and quit complaining".

They completely fail to inform the public, which is the only thing that allows the people to make the best possible decision and know what is happening to them. As Thomas Jefferson said "A well informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny". The tyrant Trump is doing all he can to shut-off information about coronavirus to the public and instead purposely lie and misinform/disinform the public.

Democrats, Republicans....tomato...tomato. That phrase really loses a lot of its meaning when written instead of spoken. But they're all in the bag for the Corporate-State, they serve the same New Aristocracy. There's not much difference in the end between the two.

Actually very little do they not have in common. Both controlled by the federal reserve bank which is controlled by??? That's right the federal reserve has nothing to do with government other than lending it money. It's not a government agency and who knows who owns it?

I agree. You'll ONLY see that from the Dems. But McConnell is playing the game. Turning his nose up at Pelosi's bill. But if she tones it down and adds pork fat to the fat corps and rich...reel'm in.

Well, on who is trying to pass better, I meant the progressive part of the Democratic Party that is trying to pass a better bill.

Yeah, got it. More specifically. The fact is, some Dems do crossover to the Reps to support their bills. Reps don't crossover to Dems to support Dem bills.

Yup, that's pretty correct. Republicans have rid their party of the more moderate politicians. Now what passes for a moderate is Mitt Romney.
