Conor McGregor suddenly retires, possibly under investigation for assault

UFC star Conor McGregor is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault in his native Ireland, according to a report by The New York Times.

The report comes less than 24 hours after McGregor announced his sudden retirement from mixed martial arts on social media. UFC officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Before announcing his retirement on Monday, McGregor told "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" he was in the process of negotiating a potential return to the Octagon in July.

Report - McGregor under sexual assault inquiry

Not suprising. After someone makes that much money it can be hard to come up with the motivation to get in a cage with someone and fight them.

Khabib is a Russian monster. McGregor cannot match him. It could be time for Connor to dip his toes into sports entertainment. Would love to see him fight Gronk at Wrestlemania.

How does this relate to Tom Brady?
 
McGregor could have maybe tried to outstrike Khabib. But never outgrapple him on the ground. You can't beat a Dagestani (or any Caucasus guy) at that game lol They are best at it. It's why is you look at Russia's Olympic men's teams in wrestling, Judo, they are all, or at least most, guys from Dagestan, Ossetia, etc. For a Slav these days it is considered an accomplishment, in Russia, to just make the Olympic team, because it means he had to beat a bunch of the Highlanders haha

McG was a flash in the pan. His 15 minutes of fame will soon be over.
