CNN, NBC, Fox personalities slam Trump over performance at Putin press conference

"Performance" may be the key word there... and come back to haunt us all as a nation.
You're less of a conspiracist than I, but it's getting harder and harder to rationalize this guy's behaviour.

I'm trying to hypothesize Trump's desire to not lose his political base and attempt to remove clouds over his legitimacy, but this argument seems to become less tenable as each day passes and new Trump events occur.

If anything, it is Trump's behaviour itself that has me proclaim the vital importance of an integral & unencumbered Mueller investigation.

I wouldn't get myself all worked up over one meeting You guys got overly excited about it just happening.

Wait and see how this plays out. Like will Mueller send a team over to Russia per Putin's offer?

I'm not worked over his lackluster performance, most of his performances are.

Extremely unlikely, especially under the conditions Putin wanted.

If he would of not re-committed the US to NATO's mutual defense treaty and THEN had this press conference...clear traitor territory. I agree, he's flirting with the edge between total buffoon and traitor.

Today he crossed the line with me. Our intel services and his own aides tell him Russia meddled and is still meddling. What he did today was on the world stage, not some rally for his uneducated base in Podunk.

This was calculated. Trump is a traitor.

I agree with me now.

Which is what Obama said in 2012

So if that is what Obama said then and what you say now, you agree with Obama or at least what Obama said then

Much of our "esteemed" US intelligence, ::cough::, the biased and propagandized media, most of the left, the never-Trumpers have thrown Trump under the bus since the evening of the election. That said, what's he supposed to do? Call Putin a liar on the world stage?

Trump calling anyone a liar is like the pot calling the kettle black.

The Liar-in-Chief is even starting to wake up the Trumptards over at FOX. I didn't see that coming.

Better late than never I suppose.

Mueller doesn't want to find any dirt on Hillary. He, Comey and McCabe would have too much explaining to do.

I see all this as a deflection for the COLLUSION between Obama, Clinton and later Lurch and Russia.

He doesn't have to be so crude. Just state that he agrees with the conclusions of our US intelligence agencies.

If Putin is offended, that's too bad. Stop the meddling if you don't want to be embarrassed.

As it is, Trump embarrassed our intel agencies and gave Putin the green light to carry on.

What sort of chicken**** CinC is this?

This is the beginning of the end my friends. I was a few weeks off, but so it begins...

I wouldn't go that far.

The 35-45% that have supported him up to this point, will continue to do so.

You are ignoring what Putin said and the fact that there is no way on Earth that Congress allow Putin's henchmen question US agents, so the "deal" was a nonstarter from the beginning, and we both know that Fact.

What any rational, uncompromised leader would do is not meet at all w/the leader of a country who is a hostile opponent and adversary of ours, who meddled in our elections and who's been poisoning people in our allies countries.

Duh.

He should have never met him to begin with, so there's where that problem comes in.

Even for Trump is was an extraordinary global news conference. I've never ever seen anything like it by an American president. He basically threw the US and US intelligence agencies under the bus in front of the whole world. He gave Vladimir Putin his [implicit] permission to continue with election meddling and all the other evils Putin is engaged in throughout the world. Trump essentially equated the United States with Putin's murderous regime.

Shameful and treasonous are the words that spring immediately to mind.

I never expected Trump to condemn Putin. After his behavior towards our allies and his actions in the UK, I was hoping this Putin Summit would be the final straw for many.

I heard that Putin also gave Fox exclusive rights to interview him after the summit, and speak directly to Trump supporters. I am wondering how that will play out.

The Amercian media and assorted neocons are responsible for our poor relations with Russia. Always needing a boogy man.
Russia is responsible for Russian behavior, that has led to the U.S. putting Russia in the dog-house for their behavior.
Russia is a nation in decline, led by a brutal authoritarian who has just attacked the US, just assassinated people in the UK, just invaded Crimea, etc. We sanction them on purpose, to send a message they are not behaving. We are 1000x more powerful, economically, and militarily. But maybe not so much politically today.

The U.S. intelligence agencies have evidenced Russia attacked us, but you're busy blaming the media and necons. MAGA.

There is no reason to have good relations with Russia, we don't need them, and they are bad actors and an adversary in every sense of the word based on their behavior.

I feel like I'm going to throw up. I'm just speechless.

I never, ever thought in a million years that an American President would stand hand-in-hand next to a Russian dictator and take a position against the people and the interests of the United States.

I am not at all surprised Trump did this. I just hope his supporters start to wake the hell up now.

Yes. Trump displayed his collusion with Putin to the entire world. Now it is time to see if there are any patriots left in the GOP.

Neither. Putin can't be trusted [according to most around here] and US intelligence has had too many cases of boobery and CYA as of late. I have never had much faith in them.
No, you have to believe one of them because one of them has to be right. Either the intelligence services are correct and Russia interfered and Putin is correct and Russia did not.

Who is correct?

it's looking increasingly like our executive branch is compromised.

Any recent POTUS has the real potential to be one of the most influential people on this planet.

I'm not a politician & certainly not POTUS.

My DP member name has no significance other than the fact that I enjoy fine cigars.

So, what is the ridiculous point you were attempting?

Oh, that's right; there is no point for you to be posting here @ DP .............

You're sure to become a poster elite with replies like this...

well, it looks like you are a fine supporter of Putin & Russia; congrats ......

Which is fascinating to consider when understanding how long it has already looked that way.

It would be a refreshing change of honesty from Trump if he did.

IF he were to call Putin a liar on the world stage, many of his haters would say, OMG, he embarasssed the United States.
Let's face it, this president can't win.
This week it's Traitor Trump coming from the anti-Trump brigade, next week, .. it will be something else.

I don't even want to reply to any liberal here regarding the Helsinki summit until they get back to their basic whining, because right now they've all really reached a collective state of brain ***, but my husband called me after the press briefing and he was laughing his head off. "Watch the RINOs today!", he said. "Putin just said that Hillary got money that came from Russia, and that our intelligence community was aiding in funneling untaxed monies from Russia to the USA. Never mind the dems; watch the RINOs and our Intelligence guys."

And sure enough ... their heads all exploded today - collectively!!! :lamo
