CNN abruptly cuts off a muslim doctor who says this about Trump

It's been addressed at least twice that I've seen. She has her opinion and that's fine. I don't doubt that's how she sees things. Maybe you should have saved your "gotcha CNN" card and simply posted what she talked about?

They cut her off politely but it did seem as your thread title states, abruptly, because let's face it, CNN didn't know what to do with a Muslim who stuck up for the anti-Christ.

Thing is, I cannot find a single, solitary video of the entire interview, which supposedly took place on March 17, 2019; lots of other interviews with Qanta Ahmed, who has been a CNN analyst for at least five years. I've seen Ahmed many times, including in 2015 where she was horrified by then-candidate Trump's proposed Muslim ban.

This 2 minute snippet in the OP has been picked up by just about every right-wing website out there, but again, no such full video. I know for a fact that her interviews usually last between 5 and 7 minutes, so this is clearly an edited chop job, and I'm quite familiar with Qanta Ahmen's views on many issues...she is definitely not a fan of Egypt's current crown prince. I had CNN on all day last Sunday, and I don't recall seeing Ahmed at all.

Until and unless I see a complete, unedited video...in context... I consider this to be just another edited/faked hack job.

Fishking posted the transcript in post 47. And yes, you're correct that there was more to the interview prior to the part offered in the OP (or the correct link rather). I did see the interview you've mentioned in regards to candidate Trump. It would seem she's softened in some aspects.

But the video of this Muslim's interview on CNN is on youtube if you were actually really interested in what she actually said.

First off the woman's name is Dr. Qanta Ahmed, a Muslim pulmonologist and internist. She is a moderate Muslim and declared Trump has good support from Muslims around the world.
Not every Muslim sees Trump to be suffering in islamophobia but instead see him as someone who condemns extremists and their actions. Moderate Muslims also condemn the extremism views in the same way among themselves.

Dr. Qanta Ahmed was on Laura Ingraham's show tonight another suggestion for you to use to find youtube coverage. She appeared with another woman who is a Muslim who voted for

Trump. These women both morn the lives of all who have become victims of extremism whether they come from a white supremist to militant Muslim extremists brutally attacking Christians and Jews. And they are vehemently against folks pushing victimhood for Muslims who will not renounce their support for such ideology trying to shut down those who are blatantly against it. The two Muslim women on the show tonight is what many were hoping that moderate Muslims would condom such extremism and speak out against it. It was uplifting

The problem goes both ways. The left doesn't want to show moderate and centrist Muslims who are thankful that the radical elements from their society are being deposed because it disrupts the politically correct anti-war narrative; and the right doesn't want to show that there are a lot of Muslims actually on their side when it comes to hawkish foreign policy because then that would humanize the enemy we're fighting by illustrating societies that have broad spectrum politics.

I am sick of the mainstream media. They're full of liars and demagogues. It never changes. We're all just supposed to swallow the pill that the enemy is the enemy and there's no real spectrum of humanity happening overseas. Then add the fact that different countries have different stories and political problems, and we've gone waaay too far for the pea brains of the common viewer. Can't have that! I mean, it's all just the Middle East, right?

Thanks, I missed the link in that post. So it was the last two minutes of what appeared to be at least a 10-minute interview, and Ms Whitfield did not "abruptly cut off a Muslim doctor" because she said nice things about Trump, lol. In fact Ms Ahmed's main focus seemed to be the use of the Christchurch tragedy as a Jihadist recruiting vehicle to sow terror around the globe that the west will fracture into splinter groups, something that would end up supporting white supremacy groups.

This entire thing is all over the web with this "CNN abruptly cuts off Muslim Doctor" crap. A complete lie, and utterly ridiculous.
 
Time to put this BS thread to bed. Here is the entire CNN interview. You will plainly see that the accusation that she was cut off is just a lie from the usual suspects.

Note: She calls Trump wonderful about 4 minutes in. The interview continues for another 2 and a half minutes. At this end, the interview wraps up with the host thanking Qanta for appearing, and says "..You were very comprehensive, .and that's why I always love talking to you". As for the Washington Examiner? They lie even worse than FOX News. LOL.
