Chris Matthews Predicts Trump Could Resign ‘In The Coming Weeks’

i would strongly suspect tRump would care. those sealed indictments would be ripe for execution

Again, who cares if he's not President? I mean other than leftists out for their pound of flesh?

And now that the state AG in NY is going after Trump's business, you can pretty much rest assured the Trump family is going to have a loooooooong Christmas dinner.

Yeah, they know it will be their last in a very long time.

An interesting theory by Chris Matthews last night:

There are some on the left who consider Trump's presidency to be illegitimate and they make a good case based on the Russian influence and the impact of the states that flipped to Trump plus his various pre-election coverups. As Matthews says, Trump should leverage the office while he still has it.

Chris Matthews Predicts Trump Could Resign ‘In The Coming Weeks’

This is the guy who had a tingle in his leg when he heard Obama speak?

Woof, woof, TV boy, but but you're not a lot more trustworthy than Trump.

Trump will NEVER resign, it would mean he has to admit a mistake and THAT won't ever happen. I believe that he will be re-elected amid even more charges of fraud. It won't matter though, the law, right and wrong, all that **** are not part of America anymore...the nation is whatever Putin tells it to be.

Most of the “scholars” I’ve heard speak on this say that he cannot pardon himself. And those who say they believe he can also say that if he did he’d be immediately impeached. Just out of common sense (not that that is an applicable factor) I don’t believe our founding fathers intended the pardon power to include the president, himself.

To be fair, I believe that the founding fathers are probably rolling over in their graves, never actually believing that the one elected to the highest office in the land would need such playground rules to begin with. "The president pardoning himself, you say? No! Of course no one in that position would ever even consider this. Too tacky."

They probably also didn't anticipate just how immature, ignorant, and idiotic people living in 2018 would be.

Yes, but his name will have no value soon enough

In case you did not notice, that was my point

Not sure he gets the point. Many people fall from grace. Just because his name had value, and implied luxury at one time, now does not. His name is a joke, and a bad one at that.

I don't buy into anything. I do know that a guy worth several billions of dollars at least is usually not a failure but, hey, that must just be me. That aside, I don't really care. Trump could be bankrupt for all I care. What I care about is what his policies are and so far they've been pretty successful. Any Democrat with Trump's record would be held up as the new Messiah.

How do you know trump is worth billiions? Because he said so?

Yeah, you didnt buy into anything!! :lamo

I'm not familiar with the stein lawsuit. Now jury rigging the primaries in Hillary's favor by the DNC and Democratic state party leaders sure peeved off a lot of Sanders supporters. Newsweek states Sanders supporters were the cause of Hillary's defeat. Comparing numbers, the democratic base voted for Hillary 89-8 over Trump with 3% third party. Sanders supporters did vote for Hillary, but by a 75-12 margin over Trump with 15% voting third party. who knows how many of Sanders supporters stayed home and didn't vote at all.

Yes, the moon, the planets, the sun, the stars all had to aligned perfectly for Trump to win. The odds of it playing out the way it did, had to be at least 99-1. Then let us not forget that Trump paid more attention to the key deciding states than Hillary did. Wisconsin 5 visits/stops to none for Hillary, Michigan 6 for Trump, 1 for Hillary, Pennsylvania 8 for Trump, 5 for Hillary and Florida 13 for Trump vs. 8 for Hillary.

In a way I don't blame Hillary for the lack of attention to Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. I, myself figured there was no way Trump could win them, but he did. Florida with its rich 29 electoral votes is something I wouldn't have let Trump have that big of an advantage he worked up. My opinion.

he won them because of interstate crosscheck.

Google "Greg Palast Interstate Crosscheck".

well, he's not much of one, so there's that. however, he won't step down. if he were to be impeached and convicted (which is also exceptionally unlikely to happen,) my guess is that they'd have to drag him out in handcuffs.

No, history reveals he's just a paper tiger. How many lawsuits has he folded on? Quite a few.

He beat out the candidates, sure, but they were all noodles, it was easy kill for a guy like him.

But, faced with some real tigers ( Mueller, etc ) watch him fold, eventually, though there will be a lot of bluster.

he will go down in flames, and blame it all on dems.

Possibly. I think as we get closer to 2020 we'll find out. It depends on how much the Republican lawmakers value their own jobs.

It will happen in 2019, I'm sure of it.

But, we'll see.

No. It's speculating about hypothetical situations.

What is speculative about the 17 known investigations surrounding the WH?

Seems to me that taking them to their conclusion, a Trump downfall is at the end of that road.

Now, Trump might survive, but I don't think so. He's a paper tiger. He didn't survive his last major lawsuit. He folded. Trump folds a lot when faced with real tigers.

He only pounds his chest when defeating his fellow conservatives in debates on stage, most of whom were noodles to a guy like Trump. That's fine, but there his talents stop.

As a president, he is the worst president in history.

Looking back, I do see a big difference in campaign strategy. Trump utilized his campaign and appearances based on the electoral college. Get 270 was all he was interested in. Hillary was trying to get more electoral votes than Obama did. She spent a lot of time, energy and money attempting to win Georgia, Arizona and Utah. Resources that if were spent protecting her so called blue wall, she would be sitting in the White House today. Of course that is hindsight.

I also noticed that Hillary did between 3-5 points worse than Obama did in almost all voting groups or blocks. Some examples that stand out. Obama 2012, Hillary 2016
Men Obama 45% Clinton 41%
Women Obama 55% Clinton 54%
Whites Obama 39% Clinton 37%
Blacks Obama 93% Clinton 89%
Hispanics Obama Obama 71% Clinton 66%
Asian Obama 73% Clinton 65%
Age 18-29 Obama 60% Clinton 55%
30-44 Obama 52% Clinton 51%
45-64 Obama 47% Clinton 44%
65-older Obama 44% Clinton 45% Clinton by one
Union household Obama 58% Clinton 51%
Democrats Obama 92% Clinton 89%
Independents Obama 45% Clinton 42%
Republicans Obama 6% Clinton 8% Clinton by two
Income less than 50,000 Obama 60% Clinton 53%
50,000-90,000 Obama 46% Clinton 46% tie
Over 90,000 Obama 44% Clinton 47% Clinton by three.

And so it goes.

And his children are thrown to the wolves?

That's ****ed up.

Well we know he has had issues with Jr over the years. Same with Eric. I also would expect if the worst were to happen, he would expect leniency for Ivanka if she turns on Jared. Those like these people tend to have exit plans long before they need one. Particularly if we assume Putin is offering any help.

I see a resignation being far more likely than impeachment, especially if he can arrange an immunity deal for himself and his loving daughter.

We might see Don Jr and Kushner in stripes though.

I am of the opinion at least some of the Trump crime family have already been charged with something and it's sealed until Swampy leaves office so he won't have pardon power, and/or Swampy can also be charged. A lot of smoke out there for sure.

My point was, toss out all the supposed reasons she lost, the important point is, that but for Interstate Crossheck, which a republican program that purged mostly minorities from voter registration rolls whichresulted in provisional ballots being handed out which were not counted in many red states which was one of the items in the Stein lawsuit which was denied, Hillary would have won the three swing states and she would be president --- the purged count exceeded Trump's numbers in the swing states by tenfold. Google "Greg Palast Interstate Crosscheck".

An interesting theory by Chris Matthews last night:

This may just be what President Trump has been secretly wishing for.

A. Fearing the humiliation of a big defeat, he may have been thinking about a graceful way to bow out of the 2020 race. Along comes Robert with a sweet deal, if Chris is right. (Does Chris have contacts within the deep state?)

1. The President would not have to worry about criminal charges against him.

2. The President could tell his supporters (including me) that he could have won but for Robert's kowtowing to the deep state.

3. The President could then return to his first love: business.

4. Above all, he could do what he REALLY loves: Jetting around the country and speaking to enormous (even bigger than they have ever been) crowds of Republicans and Independents who are outraged by what Robert did to him.

a. Who knows? Maybe so many outraged Republicans and Independents would go out and vote that the Republican candidate could actually win against the Democratic candidate (even if the Democratic candidate gets a lot of non-citizen votes). Wow! That would be such sweet payback against the media, academia, the Democratic Party, and the deep state.

shrug...

Matthews has been in and around the halls of Congress and politicians as a journalist for many many years and worked on presidential staffs I should think he knows a thing or two more than me or you

Yeah, yeah. And Woodward and Bernstein broke Watergate. Big deal.

Both those guys AND Matthews are partisan hacks.

Moving on...
