Chinese-Made Infant Flesh Capsules Seized in S. Korea

Thank you for trying.
But human nature and just plain stubbornness allows people to stick to their guns...no one wants to admit they made a mistake or could have possibly been conned.
Only a bigger person will try to open their minds and say damn they got me. I'll be more careful next time.

I have read that it is a truism among con men that their strongest defenders (when they get caught) are their victims.

Funny thing.

When I went to the actual ABC News site, and typed the full title of this article into the search engine, nothing came up. I even tried variations on the theme. Still nothing.

The link in your post to the WSJ did work. I did not walk the WSJ reference back to see if it was real.

This looks exactly like the sort of fake news story that the Russians inserted into the right wing consciousness via social media in 2016.

Indeed, ABC was one of the news outlets that the Russians mirrored when they were planting this stuff.

It’s clearly intended to appeal to the fears and prejudices of unsophisticated people. It’s the old Fu Manchu play.

After all the scams and urban legends that are routinely promoted on right wing media, and by nefarious operators playing on the fears and prejudices of folks who don’t get out much, it’s amazing that many people still take this sort of nonsense at face value.

Is It True That People in China Eat Kids?

from 2012 at that

This is an old story but isn't it just about people who believe that eating the placenta has some benefits.

The story is not only old (2012) but it's kind of sensationalized. I think the "human flesh" is just placenta. I think it's gross but it seems some people do this.

Should I Eat My Placenta?

It’s an urban legend.

It’s the kind of thing that dates back into the 19th century. Back in the days when Europeans look on “deepest, darkest” Africa, and the always “inscrutable” Oriental with a combination of fear, awe, and mystery.

Read “The Mystery of Dr. Fu Manchu”, written by and Englishmen under the pen name Sax Romer. They were adventure stories for teenage boys. Their heroes, two rough and ready Englishmen battled with the inscrutable Fu Manchu , in much the same manner as Holmes and Watson did battle with Dr Moriarty.

Fu Manchu possessed magical powers that could shift place and time, engaged in white slavery, and was always shouted in a cloud of opium or other mysterious drugs.

Fast forward to the urban legend of AGW climate change...Betcha you believe in that legend.
