I understand her fear of her dog being attacked - unfortunately for her, her liberal racism popped out.
What's conservative racism?

You know.
The usual kind.
He's there to bird watch. Did you watch the video? He was commenting on the damage that the dogs off-leash can do. And disrupt the quiet. The damage of the underbrush in a heavily used park doesnt come back quickly. Sometimes not ever. She's breaking the law and interfering with the enjoyment of the park that he's entitled to.
He did ask her first.
I agree. I have no doubt she knew what she was doing and her actions absolutely were racist...race based. For the life of me I dont get people. That being said, I stick with the things they can act on, and they absolutely can and should act on the false report allegation. And I hope it hurts.
I dont buy off on the whole apology thing. Apologies work for someone that gets so overwhelmed and overworked and something bad slips out. That...that came out mighty naturally. Its not unlike the NASCAR driver a few weeks ago. Yeah...sure...you can apologize, but that wasnt exactly hiding down deep under there.
What does it say about you that you percieve describing an African American as an African American as being a threat?Really?
Ya don’t see it?
At all?
Woman who is having a dispute threatens to call cops. But SPECIFICALLY threatens to describe guy as ‘African American’. Why?
She specifically outlined that phrase as a threat.
Why not ‘guy with birding binoculars’? Or ‘guy with green shirt’? Or even ‘black guy with binoculars’ if she wanted to call in a descriptor?
Everyone involved knew what she was doing, and her employer fired her for racist behavior.
What does it say about you if you can’t see this?
Why the lying?
The police showed up but no one was there.
Stick with facts, indeed.

I suppose I question the authenticity of any apology such as this, but it was required. The vid clip went viral, so she was done for, and she was immediately placed on administrative leave and was subsequently fired. She was trying to save her job.
I know what you mean. A drunk will excuse drunken verbal abuse by blaming the booze. No, no--however loaded you were, the filthy idea expressed was already lurking there. The booze just gave "permission to speak freely."
Cooper knew exactly what she was doing with her "I'll tell the police that an African-American man is threatening me."
"I'm going to do something you're not going to like" - then reaches into his pocket. And apparently its not the first time he's done this. He carries around doggy treats specifically for this Karen sacrament.
This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."
That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.
It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa
Christian Cooper captured part of the exchange in a now-viral video that was posted to Twitter by his sister. The woman, later identified as Amy Cooper, is shown on video asking Cooper to stop recording her, or she was going to call the cops and tell them "there's an African American man threatening my life." She repeated the statement several times, each time sounding more distressed, while appearing to call 911 dispatch.
Use of a "Karen" meme more than a little forgiving. If she'd actually reported that he was threatening her life, she could have gotten him killed.* He's black and phones often turn out to be a "shiny object" that a scared cop thought "might have been a gun." Oopsie-daisy, another dead black guy; officer just doing his job. You know the drill.
If her life is ruined, it's her own damn fault. Dogs do need to be leashed there, and she was threatening to make a call that really could have gotten the guy killed. His best case scenario if she had actually reported that? Getting hauled off to jail, likely after getting roughed up, and only released later if the recording survived.
* Hell, there's another thread on how sitting in a car while police suspected a black man of a "forgery in progress" got the man killed - they kneeled on his neck until he died.
I think the proper SOP is to shoot them and then claim you saw them trespassing somewhere.
Please, lets stick with the facts. Lies help no one. She did "actually report that." The police did arrive. The man was not hauled off to jail. The police chalked it up to a verbal dispute and left - without seeing the video.
What does that have to do with what I wrote? Please address what I wrote.
And there's lots that can be speculated about him having treats. Like he loves dogs and cant have one in the city. See? I can do it too and it's just as valid as your 'guess.'
Yeah- her choking the dog like that was weird. I mean- she had a leash- why hold it in the air by the collar?
There's no speculation. These are his words:
ME: Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like it.
“HER: What’s that?
“ME (to the dog): Come here, puppy!
Things just went from bad to worse for Central Park 'Karen'
“ME: We’ll see about that…”
before adding, “I pull out the dog treats I carry for just for such intransigence. I didn’t even get a chance to toss any treats to the pooch before Karen scrambled to grab the dog.

Video wasn't a factor whatsoever. And once again video proved to be the critical factor -otherwise who knows.
Video wasn't a factor whatsoever.
She was fired this afternoon. Not sure that accomplishes much but keep angry people from lashing out at her former employer. From what I understand the Company is performing an investigation, dotting i's and crossing t's before firing her
Doesnt support your 'guess' anymore than it does mine. Never said why he carries the treats. He was just reacting to her.
And you still didnt address my original response to you. Why is that? Shall I post it again?
No, Threegoofs is just lying as usual. The police showed up. There was someone there - Amy Cooper. She reiterated the bs she said on the phone and they left:As always, facts and reality are like Kryptonite to the Trump base. Why the lying?
The police showed up but no one was there.
Stick with facts, indeed.
Amy Cooper, White Woman On Video Calling 911 On Black Man Asking About Dog’s Leash, Loses Her Job – CBS New YorkNYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said the woman waited for police.
“Reiterated what she said essentially on that video and the man had left. There is no police report on file. She did not wish to formalize a police report of any kind,” Shea said.
Looks like she now is saying her “life is ruined” by this incident, and she apparently was fired from her investment banking job.
I’m guessing her original intent was to ruin this guys life by calling the cops (why the emphasis on African-American if not?) so she kinda got what she deserved. If you think this is totally crazy, just watch the video that came out of Minneapolis where the cops literally murdered a nonviolent guy in handcuffs.
Yes, they came, talked to the woman, and left. The video wasn't posted until later. Are you sure the Officers were not aware of video he made?

She's now lost her job over it apparently.
