They are the Cartel, you can be a horrible business person, that is why they use force, not logic. Its kind of the whole point of being a criminal.

I live 50 miles from Mexico. A wall will not stop anyone from crossing the border without said wall being patrolled. And if there were that many patrols you would not need a wall.

Until there are enough patrols and surveillance, a ladder will be all that anyone needs to cross the border without any problems. All of the proposed walls are only as high as 30 feet some shorter. So this 32 foot ladder would do nicely.

Then You need another one on the other side, never mind Border Patrol will show up, Arrest you, and that latter only got you a free bus ride back home.

What happened to that open border that you were just going on about? Now all the sudden there are border patrol with m4's? Well **** I guess no need for a wall then.

A wall is a stupid idea when there is no intention to increase Border Patrol agents. Like i said I live 50 miles from Mexico. We need more agents not a wall with not enough agents to stop people with ladders. 3 billion would be better spent on training and hiring more Border patrol agents. Right now I can hang out at the border, and most of the time never see any border patrol. Not unless I go towards a border town.

A wall does not work without personal to guard it. Right now that is the problem with our borders; there are not enough people to properly defend it. Nor do we have the proper implementation of immigration laws. If you do not fix those things first a wall is a big waste of money. ANd if you fix those things a wall is a big waste of money. The bottom line is that there is no need for a wall. Trump is just throwing money in the wrong place. In the end what will happen is that us tax paying Americans will pay for a wall that will not do a damn thing but stand there as a monument to how rhetoric and no research is a stupid way to spend our tax dollars. Go ahead point to Israels wall or some European wall, they have the proper personal to defend those walls. We do not and will not even if most of Trumps wall gets built. This wall is false security. Securing the border is important to me, being I am so close to it and have seen why we need to secure the border. But I am not so stupid to think that Trumps wall is a solution. It would be built and then the US border Patrol will probably be even more underfunded. Then everyone will go back to their normal partisan hackery and the people down here will be left to fend for ourselves like usual.

You need an effective deterrent. You dont need people every few feet on the wall but you need them close enough to major areas to be able to respond to them crossing. You arent going to put manpower shoulder to shoulder on the border.

I am pretty sure that proper procedure for guarding a border does not involve people actually standing there shoulder to shoulder. But thanx for the idiotic comment.

Walls are built to fortify actively defended areas. A wall doesn't mean anything if the nearest defender is ten miles away.

It's a big ass border and this is 2018. We don't need a physical wall. Aerial surveillance is faster, more responsive, covers a broad area, and is effectively immune to countermeasures. Walls get holes knocked in them, or tunnels dug under them.

Spend the money on spy drones. Vastly more effective for your money. You do want an effective solution, right? Not just a big dick waving moment?

You are never going to put enough manpower on the border to server as a human barrier. Just how many people are you planning on putting on the border in lieu of a wall, and at what cost?

The only thing that is idiotic is allowing things to continue as they have.

Right. Because with the combination of walls, helicopters, and personnel we have today patrolling the borders and the some 500,000 people a year crossing illegally is ample evidence that things are working just fine.

WTF dude I never said that what we have now is good. What we have now is pretty much a joke. What we need is more personal in numbers that can actually do the job. All what a wall will do is take money away from the border patrols budget.

Perhaps you missed where I pointed out that I live 50 miles from Mexico? I am one of those border community folk that want a more secure border. What will happen with a wall is that you folk that do not live near the ****ing border will assume that a wall is all that is needed. And no one will be there to stop people from scaling the wall because there wont be enough Border Patrol agents to stop them. because by the time its built everyone will go about their merry way while us living down here will have to deal with the reality that thers still not enough security at the border. Trumps wall wont stop any drug cartel from crossing the border. The amount of personal needed to protect that wall is enough to protect the border with the fence thats already in the same portions of the border that the wall is going to be built on. In other words we already have a big beautiful fence that doesnt have enough border patrol to guard.

My idea is to instead move some of those soon to be mothballed military bases to the border. Some of which could be training grounds for our military. Thats right I am calling for militarizing the borders. No I am not a liberal so stop making that stupid assumption.

My plan would actually secure our borders. Trumps will spend a lot of money to make it just like it is now.
