Given that America enjoys a trade surplus with Canada, ya, I'd say so. All parties, including America, have built protections into NAFTA. We don't want your nasty milk anyway. This is literally nothing more than a sexy number for Trump to get you all bent and twisted over.
As for NATO, you get the trade off of having bases in everyone's countries. And let's face it, at this point in time very few of the NATO countries would have any enemies at all, if not for supporting America. Plus, American military spending creates jobs and makes a few guys who have war material manufacturing companies very rich, with the American people footing the bill. You guys do very well on that front as well - at least, those of you the government cares about most. So probably best to leave NATO out of it, if it were up to me we'd spend even less. Economics is the new battlefield anyway....clearly.
Nah, man, sorry...handy talking points aside, we have enjoyed a mutually beneficial arrangement for a long time. Just because that orange fat ass decides he wants to get greedy doesn't change that history. The future...well, we'll see, I guess.
