Depends on the situation.
Regarding Yemen, I'm perfectly fine with the Saudis taking the steps to clean up their own back yard. They've been neck deep in all this garbage for a while, and it's about damn time they took care of the mess.
Here lies the problem "Four months ago, Obama called Yemen’s war on terror a success. Now the Yemeni government may fall."
Regarding Boko Haram, that's a situation I think a small boots-on-the-ground presence could do wonders. These guys appear to be pretty bush league, and they could be disposed of without inciting a sectarian free-for-all.
You mean like Obama saying isis are the JV's. According to the death toll by Boko its increasing and spreading.
Regarding ISIS in Syria and Iraq, that's something that we'll need a multinational coalition to deal with, including airstrikes, specops maneuvers and cooperation with "friendly" groups like the Kurds. However, the problem there is that once ISIS is gone, the next group of nutters is just going to take their place. That area is so rife with sectarian divides and religious fanaticism that I'm at a loss regarding how to pacify it. And regardless of Obama's proclamation that Iraq was "stable" or some of our conservative brethren's insistence that everything would be just fine and dandy if we still had 50,000 American troops standing atop that ****pile, that place was never stable and won't be for quite some time, American boots on the ground or no.
It was stable until Obama pulled all the troops out. Unlike Afghanistan where he is leaving troops to keep it stable.
That said, I don't think the responsibility for all of this stuff falls on Obama alone. The guy is the President of the United States, not the chief of the World Police.
Agree, but he has no leadership skills. Period.
He calls ISIS the JV squad, far from it.
He pulls troops out of Iraq and that allowed ISIS to move in. At the same time he and Biden called Iraq a great accomplishment for this administration.
He throws down the Red Line and Syria walks over it.
Putin tells Obama to jump and how high
He flip flopped on Iran with no this and that, now it's all OK this and that.
He calls Yemen a success story, far from it.
According to Obama there is no religious war, yet Islamic terrorist are singling out Christians and cutting heads off and Somali Militants separating Christian from Muslim students and killing the Christians, 147 in one pop.
I could go on but the point is there is no leadership or clarity from Obama on anything on foreign policy, hell even on domestic policies, like you can keep your doctor and you can keep your insurance etc BS . To make matters worse our allies have no clue what he is about. And our adversaries know he has no spine. And we now have the middle east in flames and Iran on the march, all the while Obama is giving Iran the green light to make nuks.
