Shocker... because there is no calming words from the White House, especially when President CheetoVonTweeto is ready to use language from segregationists appealing right to the racists that support him.
I wish we could go back to simpler times.
Such as when the President was trying to buy Greenland.
There’s a segregationist language? Is it on duolingo? Where do you learn it?
You learn that language from history......

In his defense, I believe Trump when he says he is ignorant of history, you too?
I don’t think it has anything to do with being ignorant of history.
You’re trying to link an expression of rhyming words to some obscure local official from 1967?
Not a strong argument.
Only “obscure” to the ignorant. Thanks for making my point......:2wave:
Some people would rather hear insincere platitudes in the hope that the thugs will suddenly become good people.
Some people would rather hear sincere thanks for those who maintain order, as well as revelations of reality if the thugs push things too far.
What makes you think, Rexedgar, that any thug is interested in "calming words"?
Deflect away........:fueltofir
Not a deflection. I directly addressed your thread title.
Why didn't you answer my question?
First you’ll need to define “thug.”

Many people don’t look like George Floyd!

You'll notice, I'm sure, that race has nothing to do with my definition of thug.
So...will you NOW answer my question?
Look. You don't have to, you know, but you might as well be honest and just say you won't answer my question.
We'll move on.
When has “addressing” a thread title passed for debate? Address the post or post a new thread.....
You’re not that naive, which is why you tried to preempt the racial overtones in your choice of words.
You need to turn off your dog whistle detector. It's malfunctioning.
You are dismissed. (see my sig)

So you are not aware of the "dog whistle" concept? Trump grew up in the 60's. He is WELL aware of the cultural context of that phrase. Course I don't expect a much younger white person to know that american history detail.
Apparently only Democrats hear racist dog whistles
