SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Ripping into Donald Trump in the final hours of this year’s legislative session, California lawmakers passed measures urging Congress to censure the president, bucking his immigration policies and seeking to force him to release his tax returns. They also formally called on Trump “to publicly apologize to all Americans for his racist and bigoted behavior.”

These people have completely gone off the deep end. This kind of crap is pure political pandering and serves no public service whatsoever. It's shameful that the CA legislature is wasting their time on political stunts while state revenues are down and budget deficits are up.

I think the legislators of California were sending a message to their constituents about where they stand on "Trumped up" issues as well as sending one to the White House.

Has anyone noticed that Trump has yet to travel anywhere but states where he has core support?

Absolutely. But take a look at the package that went through. It's ridiculous. Besides, when is the last time you saw a state pass a bill demanding that a president apologize because people don't like him?

I tend to agree and believe this is a symptom of a very dangerous development in our society. This focus on smearing politicians and worrying pc instead of debating substance is rather disturbing.

As compared to the, ahhhh how many throw away votes did the Federal Congress waste time on??? And when it really counted couldn't vote their way out of a paper sack... :doh

The Cons in my state routinely pass meaningless resolutions instead of an honest debate on the crap fest they have turned financing essential services. Seems like we spend a boatload of taxpayer money on special sessions that solve nothing. I'd say my GOP leaders are off the deep end as their action/inaction is ruining my state. There is a bit of good news- traditional GOP seats are going Dem these day in our special elections so perhaps the tide is turning against mindless GOP mantras... eace
