Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly settled a sex harassment claim for $32 million with a former legal analyst Lis Wiehl, according to an explosive report from The New York Times Saturday. The settlement is one of the biggest in recent memory, topping even the $20 million payment received by former Fox News host, Gretchen Carlson, who sued the late Fox News boss Roger Ailes, after alleging she was harassed.

“The O’Reilly Factor” was one of the biggest shows in cable news — earning around $326 million a year in advertising revenue, but its host was forced off air after The New York Times broke news of harassment allegations earlier this year. Advertisers fled the show and 21st Century Fox, owner of Fox News, parted ways with the host while he was on vacation in Rome visiting the pope-- O’Reilly has settled three cases against him personally with the others settled by 21st Century Fox, according to one person familiar with discussions. The New York Times reported Wiehl’s settlement was the sixth settlement made by the parties involved.

"In the early 2000s, I was assigned the Trump beat for PEOPLE magazine. For years I reported on all things Donald. I tracked his hit show The Apprentice, attended his wedding to Melania Knauss and roamed the halls of his lavish Trump Tower abode. Melania was kind and sweet during our many chats, and Donald was as bombastic and entertaining as you would expect. We had a very friendly, professional relationship. Then, in December 2005, I traveled to Mar-a-Lago to interview the couple for a first-wedding-anniversary feature story. Our photo team shot the Trumps on the lush grounds of their Florida estate, and I interviewed them about how happy their first year of marriage had been. When we took a break for the then-very-pregnant Melania to go upstairs and change wardrobe for more photos, Donald wanted to show me around the mansion. There was one “tremendous” room in particular, he said, that I just had to see. We walked into that room alone, and Trump shut the door behind us. I turned around, and within seconds he was pushing me against the wall and forcing his tongue down my throat. Now, I’m a tall, & It takes a lot to push me. But Trump is much bigger — a looming figure — and he was fast, taking me by surprise and throwing me off balance. I was stunned. And I was grateful when Trump’s longtime butler burst into the room a minute later, as I tried to unpin myself. Back in my Manhattan office the next day, I went to a colleague and told her everything. I asked to be taken off the Trump beat, and I never interviewed him again."

Thread is about Bill but then goes full political hack and swtches to Trump... figures.

And he keeps his job.. Maybe Wienstien should call him for pointers..

Another gotcha thread with a misleading title.

About Bill O’Reilly and media bias. FNC channel is all over the Weinstein story, but they do report very little about their own. Is that because of some legal restraints or full face bias?

$32 million?

And we thought $2 million for spilled hot coffee was over the top.

But on the good side, this may make a few other male pigs start shaking.

That's the discussion we should have, instead of taking personal swipes at one person or another.

As another source mentioned somewhere:

One does not pay $32 million to anyone if one truly believes one is innocent.

I like that Fox has re-signed O'Reilly to some rather large new contract.

Sends a great message.

They did? I would like to read about that. I wonder if it has to do with O'R's popularity and their ratings.

I thought Billy was gonna expose the truth. Looks like just more dirt is coming out. Kinda hard to expose something when no one cares about you anymore.

Fox cared enough to sign him to $100 million for four more years.

True but he was still untouchable. It was before 2017 became the year of the sleazy old man. Now no one wants to touch him with a ten foot pole.

Bill O'Reilly is all over the news today. I guess FOX NEWS reinstated his contract so he can go back on T.V. tonight and call it all FAKE news. Interestingly enough when these women settled these claims, they're also required to give up all evidence, emails, tape recorded messages, and texts- before they can accept a settlement. No one goes to jail over Sexual harrassment. 6 TIMES FOX news or O'Reilly has had to settle sexual harrassment claims on O'Reilly and FOX NEWS gave him back his contract.

Any woman that will turn on FOX NEWS anymore has got to be brain dead. It's turned into the MALE Sexual Preditor channel only.

His next book will be:

That might be because of the last few weeks, which were stuffed to bursting with DP conservative outrage at Weinstein and liberals (don't ask me how they were supposed to be at fault there). One would expect that if the outraged contingent really did find new love for women's rights, they'd be just as outraged at O'Reilly, Fox, Trump, etc.

I can see how someone might get to wondering what could possibly explain the different responses to the same type of behavior.

Apparently FOX NEWS cared about him, they were getting ready to resign him for a 25 million dollar per year contract. But I think the chickens have run out of the hen house now, over this 32 million dollar payout.

I just don't know why men feel they have to do this too women? Women don't like unwanted sexual advances made toward them--they don't appreciate it, there is NOTHING flattering about it, and it's nothing more than a power control thing for the man--(whom usually are married themselves.) If a woman is interested in a man she is going to let him know about it, there is no reason for men to go out of their way to catch a girl, except to be nice, polite & respectful.

The way a woman dress's has nothing to do with Sexual harrassment or Sexual Assault. You'll find much more women who were raped were dressed normally rather than looking like a prostitute. Red only means something to a bull in a bull ring.

Women are vain when it comes to how they look and dress. Much more so than the male counterpart. However the way they dress, in no way indicates, they are looking for unwanted sexual harrassment or assault. If they're interested in a man they will let them know.

Albeit I imagine that there are a lot of men in this country that will watch FOX NEWS just to look at the legs.

Not talking about rape or assault or harassment.
My question is, are they being asked to dress provocatively to get the job, which could be, in itself questionable, or do they prefer to let it hang out to distract from what they are saying?
