They could start by not abandoning nationwide testing in hopes that the virus only kills democrats.

Then they might consider not limiting tests in order to hide how serious the problem is.

It would also be useful to have consistent leadership on the importance of wearing masks.

And at some point, we could acknowledge the fact that widespread mail-in voting is going to be absolutely necessary this time, and start taking steps to prepare for that (augment the USPS, call on the experiences of successful states to share with others, etc).
