Bernie Sanders Enters 2020 Presidential Campaign, No Longer An Underdog

Don't know where you got that idea from.... are you pursuing some angle to claim victim status.... Simply because the Democrats are no longer a white male dominated party?

The Democrats stand for "Equality" regardless of race, gender, gender identity, religion, economic status, educational level, and any other "conjured up element that anyone would thrust into society as a discriminatory tactical gambit piece.

So you agree that the left is the bigger drag on American society. You could have done that moe succinctly without going down the liberal talking points hole.

Y'all are taking us down. Left/Right doesn't matter. The Left and Right, the Oligarchy, the Republocrats, are nothing more that Big Government, Big Spending, Big Deficit, Big Brother, Big War, Big Corporation machines. It doesn't matter if you consider one a "bigger drag" when you BOTH ARE DRAGS. Y'all are doing real damage to the Republic, but your only point is "well the other side damages it more".

lol

That is literally your excuse. "My side is bad, but the other side is worse". Well I don't want to settle for "bad" anymore. I want good. I don't want damage, I want repair. This whole lesser of two evils will end up crushing us all. You may be able to get away with it as a one off, but your Oligarchy has made a habit of it. So your whole argument of support comes down to "sure, we're dragging you to hell, but we're doing it slower than the other guy"

lol

And you don't seem to understand the damage y'all are doing to the Republic with your blind faith to the Oligarchy.

The poll workers had a script and had to stick with it. And I voiced my complaint and they agreed but couldn't change the script.

To be fair, changing the script of the pollsters could be a very dangerous practice. It could lead to booth entry voting pressure.

However, the script should be better written to give proper information, too. The whole idea of having them answer questions is to get the full information.

Fair assessment. I think Bernie has made significant in-roads in the rust belt and Appalachia. I'd also like to see a generational turn of power but I like the man's policies and that's most important to me.

I’d have to go back to the green papers (2016 primaries), but yes, I believe Sen. Sanders ran strong in the corn belt/rust belt/Midwest.

There were many bruised feelings in the Midwest, beginning in Iowa. Supporters of Sanders simply couldn’t stomach Clinton in MI, OH, PA, WI, and IA, and almost MN.

This is still far too early for me. We should be governing and solving pressing issues, not forever running for election and re-election. I fear our Congressional processes are broken for good.

Democrats risk allowing themselves to be defined in negative ways. They can’t lose the vote that flipped the House. Trying to out-Left each other will cause that.

To lighten it up, it’s now the freedumb circus versus the resistocrats.

You may spout your anti-establishment nonsense to someone who cares, not me, thank you.

Every Republican Leadership over the past 50 yrs has 'TAKEN DOWN THE ECONOMICS OF SOCIETY, FLOODED IT WITH "DRUGS" (i.e. Ronald Reagan !!!) , AND DAMAGED EVERY ASPECT OF BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY AND CONTINUALLY DEVASTATED THE WAGES OF THE WORKING PEOPLE, WHILE PROMOTING THE STRIPPING AWAY OF WORKERS BENEFITS....

That's A FACT.....

I don't care who it is in 2020. Get the Orange Trumpet OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!

So Sanders is saying he is a democrat again. Wish he would make up his mind.

I find it amusing that some people think the best way to get a populist demagogue with ****ty ideas out of office is to run a populist demagogue with ****ty ideas against him...

You may spout your anti-establishment nonsense to someone who cares, not me, thank you.

Freedom of speech, I'll spout it at whomever I want. You're free to not respond to it. But no surprise, the Big Government supporter doesn't want to hear dissent against Big Government.

lol

Republocrats will be the death of the Republic.

No, your reality is not actual fact. Sound like a Communist Manifesto...

I think the only reason he chose to run as a Dem is to avoid being third party and accidentally putting Trump in another 4 years. I don't think it was meant to be deceptive.

I still think he should strategically time it just right and drop out at the right time to be able to slingshot via endorsement the heir apparent into the White House in lieu of Corporate Dems and Trump

Sen. Sanders brings an adult to the debate on the issues, no matter all the GOPutin comments here. Democratic primaries/caucuses are all proportional allotments of delegates, versus the GOP where 2/3 of theirs are winner-take-all and winner-take-most. Proportional allotments lead to a much longer process.

Sen. Harris will come out of Super Tuesday with a big lead since California is now on that date. I expect the AA female vote to make a big difference for her on Super Tuesday also, as it did for Sen. Jones of Alabama. Sen. Sanders lost the nomination because of the AA vote and the superdelegates, to name two reasons.

Anyway, I think he's wasting his time. The Dems have moved way to the left of even him.

So that is why moderate Biden is leading in early polls....

They don't want to hear it, they will ignore it. You cannot maintain this perception of changing the status quo by supporting the status quo by taking stock of the actual policies and direction pushed by the party you support. So they maintain it by just pointing fingers at the other side and claiming they are worse. Their entire argument is not predicated on them being a good choice, on them being a good party, of them having a good platform. The entirety of their argument is predicated on the otherside being worse. That's it.

Yes! You have freedom to spout. What a shame you waste it on your topic.

That would certainly explain 2016. "oops, I need resources for a presidential run, so I am a democrat(LoL)", "oops, people where not nice to me so I lost(It could not have been I was too far nutso for most voters, oh no, it was people where not nice to me), so now I am not a democrat anymore".

I like following the races and the build up... I just don't understand how people get so mad at people for just saying they are running. It's so ridiculous.

Don't get your hopes up with Biden. He has too much baggage.

Well, I'm not gonna sit here and defend him. I just suspect he feels close enough to a dem to go there instead of splitting the anit-trump vote.

As much as I would disagree with haymarket on a political level, I DO agree that Bernie's time has come and gone. Back in 2016, he would have, at least, gave Trump a much harder time than Hillary. He ran a platform that others on his side can get behind. He was able to connect with people, especially the younger crowd. He communicated his message articulately (even it was a little hard to understand him at times with his accent at times). Most importantly to the Democrat base, he had the greatest chance at defeating Trump back around that time. Hillary was complete garbage. The Democrat base did not want her at all. She ONLY ran on the message of "it's my time and no one else's, DEAL WITH IT!" That was it. No policies, platform, or even real connection was made with her base.

The DNC and the Democrat party as a whole, despite what others may say, did screw Bernie over big time. The first indicator was, and has been for a long time, the super delegates. The fact that their votes count more than regular delegates is just wrong. Next, the Saturday night debates. I don't know about anyone else, but who the hell watches political debates on a Saturday night? I did it once and, holy crap, I was bored out of my mind and wanted to do something else. And it was a way to divert people's attention away from it. Most people probably didn't even know that there was debate, so they didn't even get to hear what Bernie had to say. Finally, the amount of money that flowed into Hillary's campaign, the amount of advertisements, and the air time she got opposed to what little Bernie got was ridiculous. Somehow, though, Bernie still gave Hillary a ton of problems before she clutched the nomination, thanks to everything and every elitist out there that helped her out.

And here we are now. I think it's mistake for Bernie to run because he IS older. I know Trump's not much younger, but he's, at least, a young 72 year old (as odd as that may sound). If the Democrats were truly serious, they would push harder for a much younger person with that same mind set because not only that resonates with the base, but with the millenial generation coming in to take over, someone they can relate to would be better. Problem for them is not that they don't want a younger person, but rather they can't find someone within the age group, right now, that they're looking for that would stand out and unite them. Instead, it seems as though that they're waiting for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to become eligible to run, and right now, she might be (or I should rather say she is) a disaster for them. So putting all your chips into one person and playing the wait game can be (very) bad.

For now, though, Bernie's is only the latest person running, and could be considered at this point in time, the front runner. His odds at winning the nomination might be pretty good, but the presidency? I don't see it. Even though I'm not a Leftist, it doesn't take anyone special to figure out that there isn't ANYONE, running or expected to run, whose standing out. Even with O'Rourke still expected to jump in this race, along with possibly Biden, their chances don't seem better than anyone else's. If you want my most honest opinion on who would have the greatest chance of beating Trump in 2020, if she decided to enter the race, it would be Michelle Obama. Young AND old people like her, she would have a solid platform with her party, and she would have a message that would connect to many others in the Democrat base. If she did enter, she would almost instantly become the front runner. No question about it. But anyway, I've gone on too long. I predict that Trump will be re-elected in 2020, but we'll see what happens.

I have thought the same thing about Michael Obama however I have never felt like she is even slightly interested in running.

She didn't want her husband to run to begin with.

I don't know her though, maybe I'm wrong...

Then enjoy 8 years of Trump. :)

I have morals and standards. I will not vote for populists. I will not vote for the far fringe. If the choice is Sanders or Trump, there is nothing to choose between. Bad president vs bad choice for president. America will suffer either way.
