So a few years of getting it into peoples psyche's that being fat is as bad as smoking.
Then making sure they think that fat people are as disgusting as smokers and are as bad and should be shunned and punished for their "habit".
Then you can easily start raising taxes on fatty foods, or banning them from areas, or denying benefits, or all the other wonderful fun things to let government slide more and more into our lives to make sure that everyone is walking the ol' company line...
Oddly enough, "hereditary obesity" never reared its ugly head until the few decades when people in the developed world starting sitting on their ass and eating all the time.
If you eat 4000 calories a day of crap and you don't exercise, then your almost invariably going to end up obese.

Yeah unfortunately, I think, decades of preventable obesity led to hereditary obesity.
Just going by what my mom (who is a dietitian) learned.
let's round up all the fatties and throw them into fat camp!
That is not entirely true.
That's not necessary. But I will sit around and judge them. When you think about it obesity is one of the few things you can make fun of anymore.
This the most hilarious quote I've heard in a while. How can smoking be hereditary?
Good luck proving that one.
Alcoholism is partly hereditary, why not smoking as well?
Are you telling me that people are born with the tendency to smoke?
Good joke.
The need for/addiction to nicotine might be hereditary (maybe I'm just guessing, but) smoking?
Smoking fulfills a nicotine addiction, does it not? Also well more accepted then chewing even still. It's not too much of a stretch for some of this to be hereditary if things such as alcoholism are hereditary.
We don't evolve that quickly. In fact, our cravings are still largely based on being hunter gatherers (we crave sweets and salt for example because up until 10,000 years ago or so, as hunter gatherers they were in very short supply).
Now, what you can inherit more or less are bad habits. If you grow up in a home where they eat a bunch of junk and don't exercise, then thats what you know when your grown, but its not genetic, its learned.

Why not?
maybe fatness is partly hereditary, but when you're really huge you should make efforts to try and stop eating all day long
That image was wholly unecessary. I just ate breakfast.
look at a pic like that just before eating, and you will eat less.....:2razz:
