My post was accurate. People like you who do not defend themselves out of being supposedly enlightened, or intellectual, makes folks like just yourself nothing more than just another easy mark to them. Thugs don't care about your concern, or your bleeding heart compassion.

They are only too happy to bash your face and hurry off with your money and your bling .

Thugs come in various skin pigments, so it ain't about "whitey" picking on black folks in my opinion when it comes to this. I see plenty of white trash thugs out on the street every day who I would just as soon run over because I know what they are up to.

I will not subject myself to a beating or to the stress of killing some robber just to save a couple hundred bucks. Lol. If you have some serious problem with my preference in this respect, i don't know how i can help you.

We're all born innocent, it is this vicious world that soils our souls.

But you misunderstand. Handing the money over is the mechanism by which i defend myself. The intellectual uses different means for self-preservation. Violence is the last resort, and a simple robbery can be satisfied without it.

One person? Sure. Two people? Maybe. But a mob of 60 teenagers? A couple of bucks, cards I can deactivate in 10 minutes, and a $300 watch is not the hill I want to die on.

You are still going to get your face bashed because a thug could give a **** about your "intellectualism" or concern about born innocence.

Thinking that it is wrong to defend ones ground by what ever practical means, is just plain naivete, and dangerous.

see I misread the first part, I thought it said "dozen" and thought 12-14 people, 60 changes the dynamic, although I think I would force them to physically take my stuff. then they get assault charges with the robbery. and the reality is, if you put up enough resistence most thieves simply move on the next victim anyway.

if everyone on the train all said no, they would've left.

robbery is a violent crime, there is no "Simple robbery" it is not theft, it is violence.

the NRA several years ago studied robbery reports and found no difference in your personal safety by cooperating or resisting. both had equal probably of you being injured or killed.

Lol, no, i don't think i will.

I didn't say i won't defend myself, i said i wouldn't use violence to defend the few hundred dollars of property i carry around. Does it really bother you? I am not going to escalate a situation unnecessarily.

yeah if a fair number of those passengers had concealed firearms there would be a bunch of dead mopes and that would be the best deterrent possible. But in that state, its hard for normal people to get carry permits and the byproduct of such idiocy is this criminal attack on the train

actually DOJ studies determined that victims of violent crime who resisted were LESS likely to be killed or seriously harmed and those who resisted with lethal force (usually a firearm but I know one women who was the attempted victim of a rape and her father had given her a knife and some training and when the cops got there,the would be rapist was close to death and never was able to recover well enough to rape anyone else) were the least likely to be seriously harmed.

Unless you're a multimillionaire, anti-gun advocate like former Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who had a concealed carry permit for years! Nowadays she settles for heavily armed guards who are rumored to pack full auto Uzi's.
