Avengers Infinity War (Spoilers)

Just watched it. Not bad. But way too many characters. Unexpected ending too- a sort of cliffhanger. My top Marvel movies are still Avengers 1, Cap America: Winter Soldier and Civil War. This one is just slightly below the first Avengers movie. 7.5/10

Well in this movie he disintegrates half the heroes, and he just sort of sits around and looks out at the sun rising from a hut.

It is revealed that they are all pioneer scientists from cultures across space and time who experimented with traveling through a captured/expanded quantum wormhole, only to end up in the Land of Fiction, where they have existed so long that they have forgotten anything else. The Master of the Land of Fiction eventually has pity and reveals the truth to them, after which they decide it's much more fun to drink beer. So they pretend they are in Valhalla and enjoy eternity. But then Rincewind shows up and accidentally kills everyone. The end.

Well I figure all the ones who got disintegrated will probably be back. Loki, Gamora, and Heimdall were killed in combat so I'm not so sure if they'll return.

I did like Tyrion Lannister's cameo- looks like the actor has finally nailed the English accent correctly lol.

I knew a little about comics in the 80s. I haven't seen a superhero movie in dunno how long (heard about this one from a friend). I vaguely remember an uprising against Marvel regarding IW (1992). Everything gets reversed in an "it was all just a dream" crap plot device manner?

People were upset that none of it mattered, it was a waste and all the characters went back to their own comic book lines unaffected. After Secret Wars, fans expected ramifications. I remember being happy to have SW7, Spidey gets Venom; it remaining reality while IW was wiped away.

I had been out of the comics seen for years by IW, so I'm not sure I remember correctly. Could my memory be driven merely by the fact that dead characters have movie contracts?

People have already wondered how they are going to manage creating trailers for the Spider Man movie without giving away spoilers for the Avengers movie.

Anyway, I'd recommend seeing Infinity War in 3D if at all possible. Note this review from 3Dor2D.com:

Simply put "Avengers Infinity War" looks fabulous in 3D. I watched this movie in IMAX 3D and I was blown away. The 3D in this movie looks incredibly crisp and bright. This movie was made for 3D. Dozens of scenes use pop out 3D in fun ways. Several scenes use 3D depth for a greater sense of scale. The 3D in this movie is not perfect and has some minor issues. A few scenes are darkly lit, and 3D and darker scenes don’t work well together. These scenes are few and far between so it doesn’t sour this overall excellent 3D presentation. The 3D usage is especially fascinating in the final scenes of the movie. I can’t really discuss this without massive spoilers, but needless to say I was both stunned and impressed. The 3D element of "Avengers Infinity War" doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The 3D and the story elements of "Avengers Infinity War" go hand in hand for an unforgettable cinematic 3D experience. I applaud the brilliant use of 3D visuals within this film. I don’t want to see this movie in 2D. I strongly suggest experiencing this movie in IMAX 3D. This movie was shot entirely with digital IMAX cameras so watching this in a IMAX theater is ideal. Overall this is a MUST WATCH IN 3D movie, and I shall give it my highest recommendation.

Personally I'm a bit wary of their IMAX recommendation. The movie was only released in 2K. Having a low resolution image smeared over a giant screen isn't ideal. I believe that a smaller screen equipped with Dolby Atmos sound is a better choice than a giant IMAX screen when a movie is only available in 2K.

But I'm definitely going to be seeing it in 3D.

Thanos was a great villain, easily one of the best yet, and I liked Banner's conflict with Hulk, but the rest was pretty bland and predictable, especially after Thor 3. I found myself easily guessing the outcomes of most of the plotlines.

Personally I'm a bit wary of their IMAX recommendation. The movie was only released in 2K. Having a low resolution image smeared over a giant screen isn't ideal. I believe that a smaller screen equipped with Dolby Atmos sound is a better choice than a giant IMAX screen when a movie is only available in 2K.

But I'm definitely going to be seeing it in 3D.

I didnt see anything about Spidey but i figured that one is a box office lock so he has to come back.

Cant watch 3D because of glasses...

I suspect they will find a way to reverse it in the next one, and if so...I think that will be a shame. My two favorite characters when I was a kid was the Vision and the Scarlet Witch and it was painful watching everyone die. But to put everyone through that and then just undo it...that will suck.

Did you notice that the ones disintegrated are the new heroes have have a sequel in the pipeline. and not the old guard.
Also i suspect an old plot move. When dr strange saw the future he saw only one victory. What is the bet that the one victory was that thanatos had to win because surely he saw the possibility that Peter Quill would talk thanatos into reacting.
Either that or my other favorite and someone will wake up and it was all a dream.

I got it for 85 cents I think. Not sure worth but ten years ago or so I saw $450
