"assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles [W:598]

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

"weapons of mass destruction"... You have YET to define what you specifically mean by that, and what you mean by "weapons of war", and as Rucker said, it is nothing more than pure hyperbole, which is not engaging in intelligent discussion about guns.

Your position seems to be "I want to ban 'weapons of mass destruction' (whatever that means) because I want to ban them." -- That is the level of logic that a four year old would make use of, and quite frankly, it does not convince me in the SLIGHTEST bit that whatever weapons you are referring to should be banned. You're gonna have to make a better pro-ban argument for me to take you seriously than "I want to ban them because I want to ban them."

And you don't think there are any handguns or shotguns that could do as much (or more) damage than an AR-15/AK-47/M-16/etc...?

weapons of massacre and death--yes ?

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

Yet repetitively telling people that they lie isn't designed to troll real gun advocates. Go figure ...

call em like I see em and calling semi auto rifles "weapons of mass destruction" is a lie

pure and simple.

Yet they are weapons of massacre and death. Even you agree with that.
How many deaths from massacre does it take for you to call it mass destruction ?

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

I don't think anyone has been President and "greatest" in the 21st century. But yes you are proud of your ignorance on gun issues

Sounds like a comment from the nineteenth century. But whatevs.

Okay, I'll bite? What are the magic numbers to go from mass shooting to mass murder to massacre to mass destruction?

I would say 50 shot dead at one event would easily qualify as mass destruction.

What's the lowest number? Can you establish the tiers for each level in my previous post?

How come no one in the government agrees with you? Government at all levels seems perfectly happy to arm law enforcement with these so called weapons of mass destruction for use against the citizenry. There are almost no controls over the individual cop who has one - no requirement to get clearance to use it from NCA, or even their first level supervisor. They drive around with them in their cars all the time.

Is 32 dead a massacre or mass destruction? Is 19 dead massacre or mass destruction?

Where's that point with the whoosh? Please refer to it.

No need. I presume you fail to understand over half of the technical details presented to you, and typically choose to deflect the rest. You're like a whoosh personified based on your average response.

weapons of massacre and death--yes ?

That could still be anything from a switchblade knife to a nuclear bomb...

Pretty much any type of gun can be used for the purposes of "massacre" and "death", so I ask gun grabbers once again...

At what exact point does a rifle become "high velocity"?
At what exact point does a rifle become "rapid firing"?
What caliber of ammunition is acceptable/unacceptable?

I don't play the "loaded words" and "generalizations" game... If you want to have an honest discussion about guns, you need to define the terms that you are using (and the positions that you are taking), or else I and other "pro-gunners" have no clue what you are talking about...

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

Nope. I laid out my definition for weapon of mass destruction--quite well, actually. Its your problem if you don't like it. Go cry me a river.
No, you didn't... you used loaded language that consisted purely of vague generalizations... That's why I asked you the following questions which you have not directly given answers for...

At what exact point does a rifle become "high velocity"?
At what exact point does a rifle become "rapid firing"?
What caliber of ammunition is acceptable/unacceptable?

I think we can guess what kind of responses we'll see. They know how hard it is to nail jello(TM) to the wall.

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

More people die to fists and knives then due to semi-auto rifles.

More people die falling down the stairs, falling out of bed, falling out of windows and falling out of immobile wheelchairs every year than die due to "assault weapons".

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

Yes dangerous objects should be restricted

Alright, so then pencils should be restricted.

Oh, but see here... pencils weren't INTENDED to be used that way, but guns somehow were apparently... GOTCHA! hahahaha **projectile vomits everywhere**

But, for real, Vegas would need to give his definition of "dangerous object", because, as Debate touched on, it could be anything from a pencil to a nuclear bomb... Pretty much ANY object can be dangerous if a person has the INTENT to make it dangerous...

People on here seem to think dangerous objects should not be restricted. Odd

I can't agree or disagree with you if you refuse to give your definition of what a "dangerous object" is... Like I said before, it could be anything from a pencil to a nuclear bomb depending on people's INTENTIONS...

Oh people have already made up their minds. Quite odd

Would you like to have a real discussion or are you going to keep giving troll responses?

I'll try one last time... What is your definition of "dangerous objects"?

I'll even help you along... Is a razorblade dangerous? Is a hammer dangerous? Is a wooden baseball bat dangerous? Is toothpaste dangerous? Is the small chain that some people wear on the side of their pants dangerous? ...

Words need definitions in order to have intelligent discussion about them...

Re: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

Thread: "assault weapon" vs Semi auto rifles

If they have a box magazine, functionally, they are the same. The Clinton era ban of 'assault weapons" proved how futile it is to ban a "name", manufactures restocked the rifles, gave them a different "name" and sold them anyhow.

For the purpose of this discussion every single gun

This is a thread about Rifles, how has it degenerated into a discussion of pencils and golf balls. -sad
