An assault weapon has been clearly defined in federal law. If anyone wants to know what that is it is very easy too look up

In the last ten years, including gang violence, domestic violence and after hours on campus shootings, there have been 94 gun related homicides in K-12 schools in the US. That's with 130,000 schools open 180 days a year over ten years.

In the last ten years, 277 people have been killed by lightning strikes.

I think what v.g. means are those objects that are 18-19 and 20 years old voting in any elections. Now that is scarrry dangerous. Just putting a long pointed nose on the strawman.
