As usual, Jimmy Carter tells the truth

You're talking to a Progressive. With that ideology things like "truth" and "fact" are wholly dependent on the individual expressing the comment under consideration and the public sentiment surrounding the comment. It's a totally democratic definition of "truth" wherin if a majority of those polled vote that it's true then it is definitely true.

Any Trump supporters who makes any blanket statements about “progressives” and “truth” or “fact” had better take a very long look in the mirror first.

The people of America disagreed with you:

In his first election to the office of President in 1980, Ronald Reagan won 44 states out of 50 with 90.9% of the electoral votes at 489 votes.

In his second election to the office of President in 1984, Ronald Reagan won 49 states out of 50 with 97.58% of the electoral votes at 525 votes out of a possible 538, the highest total ever received by any presidential candidate

Deluded democrats think democrats and the democrat party are right even if 90% of all Americans disagree with them on a point or two. Democrats are so sure their policies are best that they are willing to lie, to steal, to kill or to commit massive voter fraud to promote themselves and their godless agenda.

I guess that’s why his stature among the list of great presidents grows every years.

I didn’t vote for him either time.

But what he accomplished has endured.

And he has been a tireless advocate for American values and human rights.

Which makes him the mirror opposite of the man who occupies the White House right now.

Carter's American values:

Legalize marijuana.
Criminalize Biblical objections to homosexuality.
Support rebellion against the duly elected President of the United States.
Fight to allow abortionists to deliver live fetuses and cut them into parts to be sold on the black market for a profit.
Fight to kick God and the Bible out of schools and government offices.
Fight to steal lands belonging to Jews to give to Arab squatters fighting like he'll to murder them.

And so forth.

This is a libel of a good man who has delusions of living in a perfect world.

Are you even capable of non-hyperbolic, mature discussion?

Jimmy Carter has spent decades among other things as one of the world's most respected election inspectors, looking for corruption in elections in many countries. Now, he told the truth about our last presidential election, the same thing a top intelligence official said, that the evidence clearly shows trump lost the election, and Russian actions gave the election to trump.

Jimmy Carter says Trump only won the election because Russia '''interfered on his behalf'''

This thread isn't for his cult to parrot the cult dogma lying to protect trump.

Of course they say that.

Truth doesn't matter to them. The nice cocoon and bubble of their cult. If trump did a study and it found the above to be the case and he agreed, they wouldn't care. If it came out tomorrow that trump had hundreds of people killed, it wouldn't matter, as long as they didn't like the victims. They don't value democracy - they're his cult.

Carter said what everyone should be saying. Trump is illegitimate. He was put in place by Russia.

Only the useful idiots fail to see it.

He was not "duly" elected. He was put in place by a foreign adversary. Your argument is dismissed.

He almost single handedly ruin the Olympic movement with his idiocy. His Misery index is unmatched in my 60 years on this earth

LOL... Yes. The god 'ol Misery Index!

I understand the history of the Iraq war completely but you don't seem to if you're insisting on blaming Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for George H. Bush's war.

I blame Hillary and Obama for the unprovoked attack in Libya.

After president Bush (43) signed the SOFA, and it came to term, there was no need for us to continue in the Middle East like Obomba did.

lutherf, quite a list of cult members who liked your saying how very, very scared you are of Democrats (not trump and other Republicans, bizarrely). "Mycroft, Captain Adverse, trouble13, AmNat, marke, Thingfish, jimbo, veritas1, ocean515, apdst, polgara liked this post" So why don't you summarize just what you are very, very scared about?

Sure. Democrats have already showed that they are perfectly willing to ignore basic legal principles such as "innocent until proved guilty" when there is a political objective they wish to achieve. Democrats have already showed that they are willing to nationalize certain industries on the pretext of "helping" the citizens. Democrats have already showed that they prefer international policies which weaken our position in favor of a social globalist agenda. Democrats have already showed that they view the Constitution as a disposable historical hiccup rather than as viable, effective and necessary framework maintaining individual and national liberty. This new group wants to take all those things that Democrats have already identified as their goals and making them a reality.

In short, Democrats have become unhappy with the idea that there is opposition to the things they want to achieve so instead of finding alternate ways to achieve those goals they are now seeking to impose their way on everyone else.

179 American hostages were released the day after Carter left office.

What's your point? It was actually the day Carter left office, because of the treason Reagan's campaign committed in sabotaging Carter's agreement to get them released in a secret deal with Iran, in order to win the election.

Carter gave us every other day 10 gallon only, gas lines. Carter gave us 18% home mortgage rates and 21% prime. Carter planned a mission to rescue embassy hostages, which failed when half the helicopters failed without getting close to the target. Said mission generally described as one of the worst planned military missions ever. Carter was one of the only few presidents voted out after a single term.

To describe him as one of the best is a joke.

He did make beautiful furniture though.

Don't forget that those double digit inflation rates on our debt was passed on to Reagan added to the deficits under Reagan each year, and his tax cuts and pro business attitude got inflation back under control.

I disagree with Carter only because I think Trump clearly has enough support in the country to win an election on his own.

The Russians did help him. And it's likely that he would not have won without their help but that fact is not significant. Trump also wouldn't have won without Comey's help.

Comey's error in judgment is the single biggest reason Trump won. But there are so many other facts like Hillary being a poor candidate with a terrible campaign manager.

There are just multiple factors.

We shouldn't forget that president Trump made a strategic decision not to campaign in California. He was savvy enough to work for the electoral votes, and he would never get California.

Funny things is...

Take California out of the mix, and he won the popular vote by around 2 million. The liberals cry about him losing the popular vote, but he didn't even try for California. A good business man knows a bad investment.

California is a very, very bad investment.

I wish the would leave the Union. Let them be North Mexico.

He never served on a nuke. He only served on diesel boats. Don't lie for that ****ing idiot.

One of my past coworkers lived in the Blueback, which is now at OMSI.

Submarine | OMSI

OMSI is the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

I'm an old fart. I actually remember Carter, the late 70's. How Americans were losing faith in their country and thinking "What the hell happened to America?, the one we grew up in?"

Then Reagan was elected. He knew what we were thinking. Gave us something to believe in again with his speeches. And things started getting better.

Absolutely true.

He was also very decisive.

Sure. Democrats have already showed that they are perfectly willing to ignore basic legal principles such as "innocent until proved guilty" when there is a political objective they wish to achieve.

Uh, no, but you mean trump having his cult chant 'lock her up' constantly, and calling for his political opponents to be jailed? You're projecting.

Democrats have already showed that they are willing to nationalize certain industries on the pretext of "helping" the citizens.

Oh, the horror, of public education, public libraries, public police and fire, public roads, Social Security, the Veterans Administration healthcare. Republicans have shown they are willing to privatize anything, creating corruption, harmful agendas for profit (e.g., private prisons and longer jail sentences as favors to them for political donations), inefficiencies for profits.

Democrats have already showed that they prefer international policies which weaken our position in favor of a social globalist agenda.

Idiotic attack.

Democrats have already showed that they view the Constitution as a disposable historical hiccup rather than as viable, effective and necessary framework maintaining individual and national liberty.

You're projecting again. For just an example this week, the five radical right on the Supreme Court violating the constitution's religious neutrality by claiming the Christian cross to be a secular, non-religious symbol in order to allow it on public land, or giving Republicans what they want with approval for radical partisan Gerrymandering.

This new group wants to take all those things that Democrats have already identified as their goals and making them a reality.

Like more fiscal responsibility, protecting the public's interest from corporate abuses, people having healthcare and education. The horror!

In short, Democrats have become unhappy with the idea that there is opposition to the things they want to achieve so instead of finding alternate ways to achieve those goals they are now seeking to impose their way on everyone else.

You're projecting again. First, you just described democracy - people who want policies and vote for laws. Second, you're the fricken party who just passes unconstitutional bans on abortion in multiple states, and is wholly owned by corrupt interests against the American people.

In this very thread, you have right-wingers advocating for Republicans getting to 'oppose' homosexuality - the history including jailing people for gay sex and banning the right to marry - and you talk about imposing 'their way on everyone else'.

You made your case, and it's lacking.

Democrats may be dummasses but they are not totally stupid. They know they cannot run a republican. They ran Bernie and he beat the crap out of Hillary even though the DNC had already secretly guaranteed Hillary the nomination.

The GOP did the same thing in a previous election. I forget who though.

Lets face it. Both parties are corrupt. Sometimes I thing they are all best of friends, scheming on how they can keep the fight going. Keeping us focused on the same hot button issues year after year like abortion, illegal immigration, drugs, guns, etc. Just so we are not focused on the crap they are really doing in the background.

So I want to just get this straight in my head.

Mueller, Barr, Rosenstein, 19 super lawyers, 45 forensic FBI officials, with 500 high value witnesses have concluded that no individual associated with the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to affect the outcome of the election results (as stated by Mueller himself), but Jimmy Carter knows better?

I guess they should subpoena Jimmy Carter to congress. Maybe he can shed more light on the subject than ole John Dean.

What bunch of intellectual handicaps put Carter on a list on men with good common sense?

Just goes to show they are a poor source for intellectual reasoning.

What's your point? It was actually the day Carter left office, because of the treason Reagan's campaign committed in sabotaging Carter's agreement to get them released in a secret deal with Iran, in order to win the election.

Oh please.

Another conspiracy theory...

Sad but true. We are too easily manipulated.
