300 million people with 300 million ideas cannot possibly be a good thing. More can be accomplished when people work together such as the examples that you sighted. When a bunch of selfish whiney babies do whatever the want to, it will never yield the results of concerted efforts of people working together to end prohibition, to integrate society or to abolish slavery.
It's not the same thing at all. 300 million people doing their own thing is not the same as 10 million fighting for one cause, 10 million fighting for another cause, so on and so forth. Individualism is the theme of today. Nothing can ever be accomplished with this widespread mentality.
Oh come now, what do you think I'm advocating here? Do you think that I am advocating that 300 million people ignore all laws in order to "do their own thing"? Or 300 million people ignoring one law (as a form of protest that has been used in the past) that goes against the spirit of our Constitution? A law that was created by a few people who ignored the fact that a majority of those 300 million people were against the mandate from the begining and still are.
All other avenues were used to try and get rid of the mandate in Obamacare. People went through the courts, the courts ultimately ended up calling it a tax when EVERYONE knows damn well its not. People have tried to get it repealed over 40 times since it was enacted. Failed every time. The only other recourse left to The People is to protest in the same form that thousands of others protested laws in the past. Ignore the law in question.
