All antennae are up, the Mueller report is imminent. Reporters have been notified by the DOJ to 'stand by' as Mueller is about to release his report.
Several things that I believe will happen. The report first goes to William Barr who will formally announce that this probe is finished, then it will go to Trump. Under DOJ regulations, the special counsel must submit a confidential report to Barr explaining who’s been prosecuted and why, as well as who hasn’t been prosecuted and why. Those recommendations from Barr will go to Congress in formal letters. It's completely up to Barr whether he needs a few more weeks to review what Mueller hands over to him and to redact any classified information. Since it will be in William Barr's hands, there will probably be leaks that will come out over the next weeks before it goes to Congress. Robert Mueller will hand Barr a complete and detailed report with details but what we're going to hear about will be a short, concise summary.
The White House lawyers will scour the complete report looking for anything that needs to be redacted or withheld due to executive privilege. Rudy Giuliani has already said he wants to see the document to have a chance to make corrections or include other information. Adding to the tension, there are dozens of sealed indictments that have been filed in D.C. federal court over the two years Mueller’s been at work. These could all be unrelated to the Russia probe. But until Barr or Mueller gives an all-clear, people in Trump's world can't breathe a sigh of relief.
How much if it Barr releases to Congress and to the public is still unknown. I believe it will exonerate Trump as far as collusion with Russia, as we have expected will happen. I'm also pretty certain that this report is simply the end of the Russia portion of the special counsel's investigation and the beginning of many new criminal investigations. As Mueller's office was winding down, it begun handing those cases over to other branches of the Justice Department, including its national security prosecutors and U.S. attorneys offices in Washington and Virginia. Prosecutors in New York will pursue cases involving the Trump Organization.
