You are the one demanding employees work for the company 24/7 - over 75% of the time off the clock. I don't.

This now happens may times a week on the phone. A customer or prospective customer will be making some demand for which the answer is no. After threats and ranting doesn't work, they ask to speak to the supervisor. Our same telephone rep will put the person on hold for a minute, then the same sale rep will come back phone using a slightly different voice - saying "this is xxxxxxxxxxx, how can I help you?" That other person then will say how rude and insulting the first person was - all if it a lie.

People lie. They lie all the time. They think they can harass and bully people to get what they want. MANY times a week we hear this on the phone: "You can't refuse to sell to me!" or "I didn't authorize you to cancel my order!"

Neither of the two videos had anything to do with their employers - nothing. Any company that can not exist without total control of every second their employees lives is a business that is shouldn't exist - or should be required to pay their employees 40 hours straight time and 148 hours overtime per week.

You see employees as 24/7 slaves. I don't.

Whether their behaviour had anything to do with their employers is irrelevant under the current employment law in Florida. His employer doesn't need to justify his termination to you or anyone else.

From my experiences, most Democratic men are cowards - unless in a mob. The reason they are brave in a mob is because they have no individuality and must have a master.

I do not wear a mask UNLESS the location requires it. Most in Florida do not, including WalMart and grocery stores.

If a man (it's a man's voice in the video, not a "little old woman") was stalking behind me in a big store ranting at or harassment me over not wearing a mask, I can say exactly what I would do:

1. Tell him "Get away from me now."

If that did not work and he continued, then

2. Get away from me or I will hurt you."

The exception would be if he was very old, frail or crippled. Otherwise I would consider his harassment a precursor to a violent attack by him.

I would not be shouting it like that guy did because that is tactically unwise. It would be without any emotion because emotion is a handicap in a physical confrontation. Rather, it would be matter of fact as a fact statement - because it would be. I also would be studying his body and stance, not looking into his eyes. His eyes can neither harm me nor defend him.

I have told other men "Get/stay/move away from me or I will hurt you" hundreds of times in my life - minimally. Fortunately, 99% of the time the other man/men understand I mean exactly what I said and will do exactly what I said - and the 1% of the time they didn't I did exactly what I said I was going to do. How much I physically disabled the other man depends on the level of violent threat he poised.

Only a fool would allow an aggressive man stalking and continually harassing him the opportunity to slam him with something in the back of his head, stab him in the back etc.

Because while I'd be adult enough to limit my response to your gross negligence of not wearing a mask during a pandemic to simply talking to you about it, once you attempt to escalate the conversation to a violent confrontation, I might forget about all that restraint...and chances are, I'm bigger than you. You're probably wise to not put your brain dead assumptions about the courage of left leaning individuals to the test.

I don’t expect people to be a slave to a company. I also support workers rights to a large degree. But I also understand a business is a business and if an employee is causing harm to the business letting that employee go can be justified. Exceptions due to discrimination which is illegal

Ie no firing a Christian because they are Christian or a Muslim because they are Muslim. But if they bring religion into the workplace during work they could be fired

Neat trick. You harass and threaten the hell out of someone, stalking them around the store ranting at the person from behind - and then when the person snaps back trying to get you away from them they got you. You just delete all you did to provoke the person posting only the counter outburst and you got the person. That trick would work on almost anyone.

Notice what the company said - perfectly consistent with Democratic Corporate Fascism: "The behavior in the video is in direct conflict with our company values and their employment has been terminated."

Neither of them were at work, they were not being employees of the company, but the company claims they were. How much does the company pay them for their 24/7 employment duties?

I'll let the OPer explain if the woman in black who did nothing but stand there is part of the "their employment" that has been terminated.

I agree - unless the employer goes on to trash the employee on lie and then the employee has a valid defamation of character lawsuit. An employer who fires someone is fine with me (unless certain categories of discrimination). Trying to harm the ex-employee's future publicly? I would award that ex-employee millions.

I wear a mask because medical experts say it can protect me and others from Covid. If I see someone without a mask I don't say anything because I don't care, I just keep my distance and avoid them. Now, if someone doesn't like that I'm wearing a mask and gets in my face about it I will treat it the same way I would as if they started to pull a gun out. It is a conscious thought of threat to get in someone's face these days without a mask, and I consider it physical violence. I'm ready for it, and have been for years whenever I've left my house.

I think the whole "people losing their jobs" thing has gone too far. People have bad days, it's true. But now everyone's bad day gets plastered across the internet and then folk get doxed and their companies are contacted and they get fired for something they did off the clock and may not have even been illegal. And additionally, most of these clips aren't showing the whole of the interaction, but usually some bit. You don't know what happened before the filming started, and yet we'll react emotionally and with such righteous rage that we'd call for people being punished and their lives being turned upside down. Certainly there can be actual crimes or behavior that pushes the boundary too far in which perhaps it's appropriate for someone to be fired. But with the internet and social media, we're losing any bit of privacy the government hadn't already taken.

I'm coming to the point where I think that companies shouldn't be allowed to fire people for non-criminal acts committed off-clock.

Your message is on a false premise. There was no "conversation" and when I will have a conversation with someone harassing me over a mask - when in fact masks spread virus and harm (or kill the wearer) is never. When another man will force me into a conversation or argument is never. Until joining this forum, I was never in an argument or debate with another man in my entire life.

Not to start a macho contest, the odds that there would be no fight and you'd just end up on the floor are all but certain because that is how such incidents always ended - regardless of how "big" the other man was. For huge men (300+lbs over 6') the best course it to dislocate his knee so his weight takes him down. Thus, there is no "fight." I didn't fight other men. I disabled them. It ended immediately after it starts. That way no one is seriously hurt or killed. Broken bones heal. Dislocated joints is not lethal or permanently crippling.

The good news is that nearly all white men are all bark/no bite cowards (unless in a mob) so I'm never in such situations anymore. There are aspects to my appearance and demeanor that they really do understand I am NOT someone to prick around. Instinctively I consider aggressive by other men as notice they intent to violently attack.
