We all have our own burdens. I have my insecurities, you I suspect have yours. The difference is the result, how you treat others. If, you are so damaged you must berate and bully others to feel whole, then you need help, maybe even seclusion for a time.

What these people need? A serious challenge, a real life and death experience; stripped of all pretense and in a position where the words "please help me" are all that can be uttered.

Gangs require committing crimes to become a full member. It could be targeting an enemy gang member, robbing someone, selling drugs, etc. White supremacist gangs allow membership to attack the homeless for their laces and such. The point, for them because they're cowards, is to attack someone. Not money or power, just to prove the "guts" to attack someone. And, being cowards, the homeless will do.
