Between 2008 and 2016, the media were unapologetic about their adoration of President Barack Obama. Now, they are energized by their thorough loathing of President Donald Trump. In tragic fashion, the hubris of deifying Obama has now come full circle to the nemesis of demonizing Trump. The common denominator of the two extremes is the abandonment of disinterested reporting.

One I was kinda making a joke and two, that's not massacre, a massacre actually has to occur and those guys were trying to send money and weapons to Iraq, not kill people in Bowling Green. That's not massacre, its some minor incident in the grand scheme of things. Words actually have meaning and you cannot apply the word massacre to that event.

I would take right wing complaints about the media seriously, if they didn't give cover to Trump and his employees every time they tell a lie. Like brazen 1984 2 + 2 = 5 type lies that are easy to disprove. It seems like many Trump's supporters are mad when someone calls him on his BS.

I mostly agree with much of your expressed opinions but not this time.

Firstly, the left wing media created President Obama and was loathe to do anything that would jeopardize their creation. It is undeniably true that media bias affected how President Obama and his administration was reported on and portrayed.

Secondly, the left wing media created the Trump nomination. It is undeniable that Jeb Bush was by far the front runner in the Republican nomination process until the left wing media started pimping for Trump. It was truly nauseating watching the likes of CNN soft pedal interviews and appearances of Trump prior to his getting any traction and then the left wing media propped him up with incredibly favourable coverage and far greater air time than any other candidate. The left wing media believed from the start that the best was to secure a Hillary Clinton victory and Presidency was to have someone like Trump as her opponent. Funny thing happened, however, on the way to the Clinton coronation - - the left wing media created a false narrative that they couldn't take down once the nominations were settled and the monster they created defeated their chosen one.

Any analysis of the coverage of Donald Trump by the left wing media prior to the Republican convention and following it will show how drastic the shift became - they went from virtually 100% favourable coverage to virtually 100% unfavourable coverage. Once they trapped the Republicans into a Trump candidacy, they did everything they could to destroy him, including falsifying polling data, but it didn't work.

It is now their solitary goal to destroy his Presidency. Americans should be very fearful of the power your media exercises. It is only a few steps removed from the types of media found in Russia, North Korea, Venezuela, etc. It's shameful.

I think your last sentence somewhat epitomizes the opinions of the OP. Falsehoods and lies are an every day phenomenon with this president. His constituents accept these on a daily basis, and then resort to crying "fake news". Never before, in history, has there been so many accusations of lies. Trump brought this on right away, with his criticism of CNN as "fake news". CNN reports the news. If Trump tweets a lie, they will report it. Trump does not know how to be presidential, nor does he know how NOT to lie.

IMO it's not the reporters themselves, it is the editors and publishers and corporate owners with an agenda to advance.

It's not so much the stories they cover, it's also the stories they don't cover.

Many reporters are extremely naïve and ideal, but they are not vicious and deceptive. The deception and manipulation comes from on high within the organization.
