Louisiana's top prosecutor announced Tuesday that he will not pursue charges against police officers in the death of Alton Sterling — coming nearly two years after the shooting outside of a Baton Rouge convenience store was captured on graphic cellphone video.

After informing Sterling's family about his decision, Attorney General Jeff Landry told reporters that there was not enough evidence of criminal wrongdoing to bring charges.

Unfortunately things haven't changed much in the deep South since the end of the Civil War. This guy was hurting no one when he resisted arrest & the cops fired 3 warning shots into his chest at point-blank range after having Tazed him twice. Neither the feds or the locals are going to prosecute the 2 cops involved.

You launch right into the bigotry, eh? Good way to get started.

One case in one state leads you to a gross overgeneralization about the South. Very unfair.

Oh, okay. Two cases. Please don't pretend that you're missing my point.

I see your point but I will post other cases later that show at least a correlation between geography & police violence against people of color.

Out of curiosity, how long should a suspect be allowed to resist arrest before cops can act? If someone accused of a crime, matching witness descriptions of a suspect and acting in the manner described by witnesses really believes that they are not guilty of doing anything should the cops even attempt to arrest them? Should the cops even attempt to question them? At what point do you really believe that someone should be compelled to submit to an investigation of an alleged crime?

I guess you don't believe that "there was not enough evidence" to bring charges so you play the race card instead and stereotype the deep south because of your own political agenda. Good job.
The feds and the locals are correct to not prosecute. Sterling was going for his gun, therefore it was found that the officers acted in a reasonable and justifiable manner. If Sterling didn't reach for his gun, he'd still be alive.

Deaths of blacks while in police contact in last 3-4 years:

Sandra Bland Prairie View, Tex. NO CONVICTION
Freddie Gray Baltimore NO CONVICTION
Walter L. Scott North Charleston, S.C. PLEADED GUILTY
Keith Lamont Scott Charlotte, N.C.
Alton B. Sterling Baton Rouge, La

Sad how Baton Rouge keeps popping up in this regard.
