One of DP's most religiously pious members has just come out in favor of voting for a child molester lest a Democrat win.
I disagree with this, but I understand the logic behind it. If you believe that it's zero sum, and that you have to make a choice between the two, molesting a few teenagers is less horrific than the mass murder of infants.
Personally, I'm not willing to put my name next to either, and I suspect that making the short term decision here to back Moore will actually do more long-term damage to the cause, but I understand why people disagree with me on that.
Trump led the Republican party into adopting principles it never would have dreamed of considering ten years ago
Yup. Although, to be fair, Trump wasn't fully the problem - he was a symptom of a disease apparently already within our midst. Evangelicals (!) are now more likely than any other group to think it's fine if a politician commits grave moral atrocities. Yeesh.
and almost immediately after the Alabama governor's statement betting odds immediately pulled Moore back ahead of Jones. Leadership matters, and that leadership is pulling about 40% of our country into hell.
1. Nah, individuals put themselves in hell.
2. Here on this earth, however, we're all in the same boat. Wherever we're going, we're all going there together.
Ten years ago I disagreed with Republicans on nearly everything, but we did share most core humanitarian and Democratic principles, but no longer.
 As has been amply discussed this week, Republicans aren't unique in their willingness to man the ramparts defending morally indefensible men whom they find politically useful. I'd say what we've seen is that Republicans
do, sadly, share the same core principles as Democrats - both prioritize power.
I've got to get back to work. This **** is super depressing.
Don't worry. It'll get worse.
