AG William Barr says 'spying did occur' on Trump campaign, is reviewing whether it was lawful

And when he was asked if he had evidence what was his reply?

Straight out of the horses mouth.

So great, he's got questions about it. Investigate and get back to us, but let's not pretend he did not say what he said.

I have no specific evidence that I would cite right now

Why are you repeating what I wrote above?
Stop wasting my time.

Stop posting facts. You are spoiling the fantasy. The circle jerk is already fighting over who gets to push the platform out from under Obama when he has the noose around his neck.

Barr said nothing at all. Anyone who isn't completely blinded by love for Trump knows that.

The report must be bad for 45 as Barr lays out a CT to muddy the water. It's clear that he lobbied for the job and has joined the ranks of 10th round picks.

Umm because you didn't?

Didn't what? He is not going to give us any evidence until he completes his investigation. Why would he?

I repeated almost verbatim word for word what AG said this morning. Adding one more thing here off the top of my head. He said he feels an obligation to the country "to make sure intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies staying in their proper lane."

You're not offering anything new.

Is that what they're saying on The Conservative Treehouse?

She wasn't speechless. She asked questions. He was speechless. Of course, you didn't see it. Trump doesn't allow you to see what's in front of you.

At least you admit he only "declared" that he "believes" it. Of course, the smart people know that already. Looks like you just caught on.

What is the conservative tree house?
Yes she was speechless and followed in disbelief comments.

No Trump doesn't have any thing to do with what I see so please stop the baiting bull**** you are known for on this forum. I and so did millions who were watching saw your damn senator lose her grip. . Barr's comments sent your senator on her heels. Period.

I feel sorry for people like you. Hope some day you get a grip.

POTUS found his Cohn. Things didn't quite work out for Cohn as a hack for McCarthy and 45. It won't work out for Barr either.

No matter how much you spin it, you are not being truthful. You're guilty of losing your grip on the reality of what occurred.

You are another one I feel sorry for. Man I hope you survive when it is finally proved all the **** you wanted to believe wasn't true. It's coming. Hope you are surrounded with loved ones.

Of course you feel that way because you actually believe what you do but when that is found out to all lies will you be able to handle it? I sure hope so.

Yeah minus the: "I have no specific evidence that I would cite right now" comment.

Look if Barr thinks he needs to investigate then by all means let him investigate, but let's not forget that just like Jeff Sessions he is not the personal attorney for the president. Sessions realized that early on and was constantly under fire from the day he recused himself. I found it disgusting that a man who followed the law was dragged through the mud repeatedly all the way down to his leaving the position.

It's obvious Barr is in a "yes Mr President" mode for the time being. Everybody that's passed through there by way of Trump has started in that same thought that they will be the golden goose. And one by one they've fallen short. So let Barr knock his socks off and lets see what he comes up.

What does my family have to do with my opinion? Attack my post with facts, not lowdown insults, and leave my family out of it.

I did not attack your family so why did you even bring it up? I did not attack you with lowdown insults either. Since when is it an insult when you feel sorry for someone?

How disingenuous.

IMO, wild, unhinged and comical fantasies should never be the basis of an opinion.

"Coup"? LOL! Words have meanings.

Oh, you mean like Russian Collusion? :lamo:lamo:lamo

The fact of the matter is that this is precisely what happened, and was instigated by your oh so precious first black president.
Chicago machine politics came to DC and got bigger and uglier.

Yes you did and we probably should all feel sorry for you apparently being at the point where you felt a need to do so.

Fun to watch you pout and INSIST that's the case and then never be able to back it up.

Oh really? Perhaps this from the Washington Examiner which is not one one of those leftist fake media sources that you profess to abhor.

William Barr loves warrantless surveillance, not civil liberties

"William Barr loves warrantless surveillance, not civil liberties"

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., announced on Monday that he will oppose President Trump’s nominee for attorney general, William Barr, decrying him as the “chief advocate for warrantless surveillance.”

Paul is right. Sadly, Barr is expected to soon pass his confirmation vote with near-unanimous Republican support and some support from Democrats, showing that the evisceration of the Fourth Amendment’s protections against unreasonable search and seizure has been normalized. After all, Barr has a troubling record on civil liberties: He played a crucial role in the creation of the modern surveillance state and has long advocated the unjust seizure of property through civil asset forfeiture. His history reveals a contempt for essential civil liberties protected by the Constitution.

While serving as attorney general under former President George H.W. Bush in 1992, Barr directed the Drug Enforcement Administration to collect bulk phone data on millions of people, most of whom weren’t even suspected of a crime. This program laid the groundwork for the National Security Agency’s phone record collection authorized by the PATRIOT Act a decade later. All this led the American Civil Liberties Union to dub Barr “The Godfather” of the NSA’s bulk data collection program.

Barr continued to be a cheerleader for warrantless surveillance even after the PATRIOT Act’s passage. During congressional testimony in 2003, he called the bill a “major step forward.” He went on to say that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the law that authorizes foreign surveillance and has been abused to surveil, “remains too restrictive” because it “still requires that the government establish probable cause that an individual is either a ‘foreign power’ or an ‘agent of a foreign power.’” In other words, Barr objects to the idea that the government should need a warrant before it can spy on citizens.

That's your newly found hero and guardian of governmental intrusion that Paul Rand and others talking about here. Congrats!

What is important here is that he was clear that the spying is not necessarily illegal. He said it depends upon the "predicate".

Quite True. That's why I'm not getting all 'excited' about this, see what Barr's considered opinion is after he's reviewed the documentation. He'll be aided in this in that he does have the power to issue subpoenas, doesn't he? Hmm.

What that means is that he is going to be looking at Brennan. He is going to be looking at the EC that Brennan sent to the FBI that caused the start of Crossfire Hurricane.

Remember when Nunes was talking about the EC way back in 2017? Well, THAT'S the predicate.

Brennan is toast and the dominoes will fall.

To be fair, to be seen. Barr may yet find the predicate sufficient.

btw, the NYT is trying to get ahead of the story to save THEIR credibility...remember how they were saying that anyone talking about Halper was getting into CT territory?

Oh, and btw, that action by Halper happened BEFORE there was a Russian investigation. Think about it...

Halper was the bag man to setup the recurring 'Russian Collusion' narrative with whomever he met.

The Russian Collusion 'pre-packaged' 'deal' wasn't that first proposed by Glen Simpson and played on McCain during his presidential run? I think I'm putting that together correctly. The Democrats and the cabal may have gone to the well just once too often.

Then there's the mysterious Mifsud. Reasonable money is on that he's a MI6 cutout. A UK asset to the UK MI6 guy that Brennan kept meeting with in London. Hmm. Yet more of the tangled web is revealed.

Guys, all this is already been well covered in various nooks and crannies on the Internet of investigative journalist's reports, the real ones.
Just have to Google it.

Or you can use already written and footnoted ones:

But why should you or the Democrats worry, if you have nothing to hide?
