Typical TDS rant, though a touch more thoughtful than most. The foreign policy content is empty air. The Trump administration has done very well in that area. Trump himself has been well received, except by the media. The deficits are a talking point, ie 90% spin. The deficit to GDP ratio is about the same, but $120 Billion of the deficit comes solely from higher interest rates. Calling his base uneducated is simple bigotry and forgets that he is attracting traditional Democrats. That was a classic Trumpster essay. Full of clearly ridiculously false claims, and dripping with the sort of parochial xenophobia that the reactionary right has always reflected.
Trump’s quitting the world stage has weakened us in the world, and has totally undermined any faith anyone in the world has in the reliability of the United States. We are not the shining city on a hill. Trump has betrayed every value that this country stands for, and the world knows it.
Kim Jung Un gave Trump the finger two weeks ago, and Fox didn’t even bother to report it. Which reflects the understanding that Trump’s behavior on the world stage has reduced the US PResident to irrelevance, and that Fox knows that its flat earth audience doesn’t care.
Claiming that Trump is not a pathological liar upends your entire theme instantly.
Trump flagrant lies are not only out there for his mob, which parrots everything he says. But world leaders take it for granted that Trump can’t be trusted. He has less influence on world affairs than any US President since Calvin Coolidge.
This is partly because playing to backwards parochialism is popular with his base. Your post reflects that, as it looks at the Presidency only through the very narrow lens of US domestic party politics.
You’re honest about it. After all, your alternate candidate was Ted Cruz, a man who staged a one man crusade against debt, and drove the United States to the brink of default on its debt, which would have triggered a global depression. Typically, especially for the reactionary right, Cruz promptly forgot about fiscal responsibility once Trump began running towering deficits.
Aside from you support, Cruz and Trump had one other thing in common.
Cambridge Analytica.
Trump and Cruz have something in common, they don't give respect easily, but they do respect each other and work well together.
Strange use of Cambridge Analytical. I have no idea why it's there. Obama did the same thing but no one cared.
