For those keeping track of the re-named tanker, as of today its destination is no longer given as Kalamata, Greece and is instead listed as 'For order'. Thus far, none of the major news networks seem to be aware of this change. I only know about it because I've been tracking the vessel's course through the Mediterranean Sea myself. Stay tuned ...

Bloomberg - Released Iranian Oil Tanker Switches Direction, Heads for Turkey

Iranian oil tanker changes course from Greece to Turkey

Iranian oil tanker pursued by U.S. says it is going to Turkey

Hi! Thank you for the additional information. I'll continue to track the ship.

Regards.

The ship continues on its way through the Med. No destination is listed, though there are a number of possibilities in the eastern part of the sea. The Suez opens the door to still more. There is information that the oil aboard has been sold, though the purchaser's not identified.

And so it goes.

I read somewhere today on a news feed that they unloaded and sold the oil on that tanker, but that no one is sure who it was sold to, It was believed to be headed for syria but now speculation is hinting at turkey who was already fairly reliant on iranian oil due to the long transport for oil from saudi arabia.

however that theory floated makes little sense since turkey borders iran which would be easier to ship oil to them by ground than sea, unless they had an original buyer who backed out from us pressure and had to unload it on the first buyer they could find with the cash.

As of this morning, 6AM EDT, 8/27/19, the ship has changed course. During the last few hours there was a change from 107 to 81 degrees. The ship's headed to Cypress, though another small course change could carry it past there to Turkey. As far as is known, her cargo's still aboard. No port has been announced. Update tomorrow at this time.

6:30 AM on the 28th. The ship's course has again been changed, a few degrees to the North. On this heading it will continue north of Cypress. There are Turkish ports ahead which can accept the oil. No destination is yet given.

6:30 AM, 2/29/19. Ship is north of Cypress, headed for a bay on the coast of Turkey. The port there has the capability to off-load tankers. A change of course to the coast of Syria's still possible. No specific destination listed.

Same day, 11 AM SDT. The ship has done a 180 and is now headed back along the course to the west. Destination is again unreported. Things are getting interesting. Next thing I expect to see are on-line scams offering shares in the oil if you pony up some money. ;-)

8/30/2019, 6 AM EST. After sailing this way and that for a while, the ship is presently headed north and expected to turn to the east shortly. A port is now listed: Iskenderun, in a bay on the Turkish coast. The ship was headed toward there a while back, but then reversed its heading, sailed west, then south, and again reversed its course to the present heading. Killing time while approvals were obtained for docking and unloading? Waiting for the US to get involved? Selling the oil to a Trump shell company? At this point, there's no further information available to this ship tracker.

8/31/19, 11:15 AM EST. The Adrian Darya 1's done it again. She's back to no listed destination and is completing a 180 degree change of course. One can only speculate on the messages flying back and forth between ship and oil owner, oil owner and the powers that be at ports and, finally, diplomatic messages between a number of countries.

The story's not over yet, folks. Stay tuned.

This may be my final report. Time: 3:30PM, EDT. At noon, the ship appears to have turned off its transponder. It's within easy reach of of the Syrian coast, though no tank farms are in evidence at the two port cities. Turkey remains a possible destination.

6:30 AM EDT, 9/5/19. There's a number of tankers going 'dark' at N36 35, E 35 13. I rather suspect that interested nations with scanning satellites are watching closely. The A D 1 remains dark.
