There has been much in the news these days of stories of sexual assault by males on females, usually attached to someone famous or a political figure either in office, or seeking office.
I agree this is something that needs revealing.
However,
much has also been made of statistics showing reports of Male on Female sexual misconduct/assault occurring in record numbers.
However,
I don't believe the statistics tell the true tale,
since men seldom report the kinds of sexual misconduct women readily do.
IMO, if men were both encouraged and felt socially free to report the same kinds of "abuses" without stigma, then the statistics would show a more equal distribution between men and women.
My own experience indicates women of all ages can be just as aggressive as men, having myself been groped, kissed, fondled, teased, (even manipulated to arousal while asleep or intoxicated) during my lifetime.
For example:
1. Beginning at the age of 5 when a 12 yo girl decided she needed to see what a boy looked like without his pants, and gave me a model battleship in exchange for her personal "physical examination."
2. Being "handled" by a pretty science teacher in middle school...I was happy to be there.
3. Passing out drunk at a party when I was 16 and waking up woozy to a half-naked girl (I didn't like) trying to do the dirty without my consent (albeit Mr. Happy seemed willing until I woke up).
Those are some of the earliest recollections, and are only the tip of the iceberg over the last six decades.
I've never "reported" any of the times my personal space has been invaded by women who seem to feel entitled to touch men in ways they themselves would find offensive. I just took it in stride, it's a "man thing."
So I ask,
have you, my male peers, been "sexually assaulted" or "abused" in such ways, and reported it?
Simple Yes or No, because either you did or did not. The poll is anonymous to protect the innocent.
