“A ‘middle ground’ policy that's supportive of more fossil fuel development is a death sentence for our generation and the millions of people on the frontlines of the climate crisis,” Varshini Prakash, co-founder of the Sunrise Movement, which has been leading the push for a Green New Deal, said in a statement.

But Fallon isn’t so sure. Biden at one point told the crowd that “the United States is soon going to be the largest producer of energy of any nation in the world by the end of the 2020s. My lord, what are we so afraid of?”

We need a Green New Deal.

Time to pass the mantle, imo.

I thought we only had 12 years left?

How many Middle Eastern refugees are you personally going to host when the ME becomes too hot for humans?

None(wink)

12 years

That MIGHT be enough for me to take a second look at Biden...

Nah, no matter how you dress up a pig, it's still a pig. The last thing we need is a cockamamie GND.

^This comment is exactly why Democrats chasing after the phantom moderate Republican vote is a piss poor strategy.

I think people who oppose the Green New Deal should have to host a minimum of 3 more.

Well, you can think all you want

It ain't happening

Leftist loons think humans will die in 12 years if Americans do not spend themselves into bankruptcy debt hell on green energy projects started by leftists seeking to get filthy rich by tapping in to the fake science nonsense.

marke, how many unknown middle easterners do you plan to host at your home when the ME becomes too hot for humans to inhabit?

Maybe you can make them up a room next to the displaced Floridians?

Well, yeah.

But they need all they can get, at least where the Electoral College votes lie. (That means they can stuff California and New York)

But, if you oppose the Green New Deal then you're more at fault for the displaced Middle Easterners than I am. How is that fair? For your opposition to the solution; you should be required to host more displaced Middle Easterners than I would be required to host.

If we're going off 2016 election results, Democrats need roughly >77,000 votes in 3 states to win the EC.

I really did not expect to see the circular firing squad forming this early.

White men will be the death of us all, I tell you.

Too hot you say? I'm still waiting for NY City to fall under 20' sea flooding due to iceberg melting, according to a Gore prediction that was supposed to have already come true but obviously has turned out to have been much delayed.

Prediction: the democrats rip themselves apart and somehow manage to hand Trump 2020 via identity politics (I don't mean the same thing that RW posters do) and environmentalism, specifically AGW.

Here's the thing. It's all a balance of risks and probabilities. We know the probability of doing what needs to be done to completely avoid the fallout from AGW approaches zero in the mathematical sense. We should not hang our hats on the stars aligning. With the power the GOP has, we will never do what must be done. So we must do what we can reasonably do, when we can reasonably do it. Meaning we don't start by demanding ten trillion over ten years or whatever to avoid AGW, even if that's what sane people would do.

If Biden is the Dem still most likely to beat Trump when the Time Of Deciding approaches, we need to all get behind him no matter our gripes. Unless, of course, we prefer Trump. And we better not tell ourselves that our conscience is clear because we voted third party; no, the necessary function of a vote for third party is a vote against the candidates, which results in a vote for the winning candidate.

People need to understand that reality does not respect principles. It does not contain them in any sense other than mathematically describable law. Principles cost, and they aren't served when you 'stand on principle' in a way that functions to undercut your principles; namely, doing things like voting 3rd party because you didn't like Hillary or DNC's treatment of hillary, but would have voted Bernie. Yeah, Hillary sucked. But not as much as Trump.

I guess where I've meandered to is this: vote your conscience, sure, but own what your conscience vote did. Don't be all "I'm principled because I showed I didn't like either" then complain about 4 more years of Trump.

You want us to air condition the Middle East?

How many Middle Eastern refugees are you personally going to host when the ME becomes too hot for humans?

Is that why the ME is leading the global fight to get rid of using oil and natural gas?
