If anyone's up and wants to discuss real time right now, you can get on IRC. If you want to but don't know how, PM me.
What network/channel?
Japan is no stranger to earthquakes. I have colleagues there who are already in contact and they say that people had a very disciplined response. The level of damage remains to be seen though.
Temporal said:I don't appreciate the way the media is sensationalising the dangers of the oncoming tsunamis with fear mongering and dramatic interpretation. The danger is real but the best thing we can do is stay calm and let the preparedness plans kick in to get people to safety zones.
I swear, people are loving this drama way too much.
I disagree, this isn't a random shark attack or an outrageous Charlie Sheen quote, it's an imminent disaster for many countries all across the Pacific Rim. The more sensationalizing, the better.
That's not what I mean. People flocking here to say "ZOMMGGGG STUFF UNDERWATER!" and "HAWAII IS IN IMMINENT DANGER OMG!" is not helping anything. Let the authorities do their jobs and wait for the official statements. The sensationalism about it is stupid and disrespectful.
The sky isn't falling. **** happens. Let's wait for more info. I realize Americans enjoy dramatic destruction because it gives them something to watch on t.v. but let's give it a rest.

What the HELL are you talking about?!? Let them do their jobs? Dude...... what you said is sooooooooo stupid Im not even going to respond to you.
Its making others aware of whats happening. My cousin is in Japan right now and I called to let my aunt know whats happening over there. If i didnt tell her, she would have never known until 7am. Us talking about it and being aware of the situation has nothing to do with the authorities and their job. Being aware and alert is far from being disrespectful.
Thoughts and Prayers to anyone who has friends or loved ones in Japan**
FYI you can view the status of the tsunamis here:

Most distant places like Hawaii have been downgraded to low-moderate severity. No need to panic.

No need for panic?
Relax, no one wants there to be panic. They're just concerned. No, there isn't. It's going to be there in 6 hours. People will get out and to higher ground, unlike in Japan.
Are you suggesting we should be panicking? How would that help this situation whatsoever?
