3 Mass Shootings in 2 days

We should work on keeping the bad guys who sell the handguns from getting the handguns in the first place.

We should also work on the demand generation part of the equation. Bad guys only sell guns to other bad guys because demand for illegal guns is so high, and the reward exceeds the risk. When gun charges are dropped or crimes aren't even investigated there's no disincentive to continue to buy and sell guns on the black market.

The bad guys have to get the guns in the first place to be able to sell them. But you're right about gun charges not taken seriously, they need to be better enforced.

Name the place that enforces gun laws well in the US

Almost every gun used in any homicide, with extremely rare exception, was legally manufactured and legally purchased before it found its way into the hands of the hoodlum who murdered someone.

So was every knife, rope, car, and any other item used as a weapon.

I'm all for keeping violent criminals behind bars. One of the examples in the OP is someone let out on bail facing Strangulation, Assault, Terroistic Threats, amoung other charges. He never should of been let out until trial. Keeping bad guys away from the public is a great start in preventing them from acquiring guns.

Common sense would be to go after root causes, not the tools used. There are no "common sense" gun laws...they are feel-good BS laws that have proven to be failures. If the "gun" problem is as bad as you say...and has been increasing as you say...then why is it that this has happened after 50 years of MOAR GUN LAWS? Why didn't we have all these problems before all those gun laws?

There is nowhere in the world that has achieved low gun deaths with lax gun laws by going after the "root causes". It can't be done

The "root cause" is the 350 Million guns floating around out there somewhere. Pretty obvious stuff to anyone honest enough to see it.

Correct. I seem to recall a pressure cooker was used as a weapon in a certain Boston Marathon awhile ago. Those bombs were powered by black powder, which is easily made.

Because back then we didn't have psychoquacks prescribing mind altering drugs for people that cause suicidal and homicidal tendencies. These bastards have a lot to answer for. We also didn't have convicted mental cases and convicted criminals just let out on the street without receiving treatment of serving time. We also didn't have the 'drug war' funding organized crime to the levels we have today. The local and federal governments also have a lot to answer for.

Doesn't wash. Guns per capita is high in several countries. The U.S. is enjoys a low murder rate despite the number of guns here. Other nations with similar numbers can't say the same. This theory is falsified.

Very high gun death rate in the US

Europe has all that and low gun deaths

You can't claim something is a bug problem if you don't even have an idea on how big of a problem it might be.

I'm thinking that if millions of just released felons are buying guns the day they get out of prison, maybe we should stop letting them out of prison.

That's not what I'm disputing. How ofyen are criminals buying from private sales?

I would say it accounts to a lot fewer than criminals selling to criminals.

So you are guessing? Imagine if you could buy opiods from Opiodlist (the equivalent of armslist)

A much better guess than this out the butt figure.
Well it's kind of hard to measure. Lol. Maybe millions

You mean like you can on Craigslist and other social media sites? I've bought a few guns online. The face to face sellers asked for a Concealed Carry card as proof I wasn't a criminal, out of state purchase went to a FFL.

Have you ever bought a gun online ?

In my state you check the private party box, meet the guy in Walmart parking lot, hand him the cash you get the gun. No words need be spoken

Have you ever done it to get firsthand experience or going off the stories you've heard?

I can't imagine a scenario that you wouldn't talk to a person that's buying or selling something that's just ridiculous. One too many spy movie plots in that story
